password protect a drive on windows ?
is this possible, without using truecrypt or bitlocker to encrypt the whole drive?

just use truecrypt. Works a lot better.

You mean without using any programs? I don't think it's possible :pimp

how protected do you want it to be? just to protect it from a casual person that uses your computer while you are around? or data protected in more determined cases where they might get at the data by rebooting with another drive?
