Who's Tired of Fucking 9/11 Coverage Already?!??!?

Fuuuuuuuuuuck!

Can't turn to the news without some fuggin' spin on 9/11 - they're even reporting about reporting on 9/11 now!!!!!

Go AWAY!!!

sigh...

uno 09-07-2011 05:41 PM

9/11 still feels like it happened a few months ago to me, so yes, i'm tired and saddened by all the coverage.

brassmonkey 09-07-2011 05:51 PM

yes im tired of it.

19teenporn 09-07-2011 05:53 PM

It was a fucking black day...

Watching those persons jump from top floorsmknowing they were going to die anyway is something i will never forget.

So, i guess it's ok with me, no problem at all.

Socks 09-07-2011 05:54 PM

Just cancel cable like I did. Now I don't hear newscasters repeat the same news in 75 slightly different ways, doing everything they can to avoid awkward silences.

I haven't seen a commercial in a long time, except when they play in front of a video on some website.

astronaut x 09-07-2011 05:55 PM

I drove by an elementary school the other day. They were putting cups into a fence that read the words.....

"WE REMEMBER"

Really?

None of those kids were even alive at the time.

Well I love the PVR/TIVO thing - I skip commercials every chance I get

Still... the news THE NEWS!!! I mean fuck ther's more important things than re-re-re-re-remembering 9/11...

:D

Failed 09-07-2011 06:24 PM

I've been going out of my way to avoid it. It was a horrible day, and a horrible act of violence. To watch the scumbags in the media exploit this day, and the victims, may disgust me as much as the day itself.

Rochard 09-07-2011 06:43 PM

I am still blown away by what happened on 9/11. It's our generation's Pearl Harbor. I haven't been watching the news much, but I do have a bunch of 9/11 related stuff on the DVR set to record.

Sadder still those kids will never know the truth, I could only imagine the shit in their history books:helpme

on edit- do they still even read books or is it just a direct neural plugin nowadays?

dgraves 09-07-2011 06:47 PM

the entire thing sickens me and it will probably be the most shameful act in our history.

i wouldn't be surprised if larry silverstein charges admission for the public to see the memorial.

i bet he was pissed that he couldn't use all his property. i'm sure he wasn't thinking that far ahead...

rogueteens 09-07-2011 07:03 PM

Our satellite channels are full of it and it didn't even happen in this country!

Aww poor baby... just because they make the lose change bozos look like... well.. bozos. I watched one of the documentaries tonight and it was great. The director of lose change was clearly caught up in his own BS.

Sorry dud I know you love that move (all 3 versions) but none of these conspiracy theories make any sense. Al Queda did it. The buildings collapsed due to damage by the impact of the planes and the fires. Unitied 93 fell to the ground. It WAS a plane that hit the pentagon and not a missile. Time to move on.

Coup 09-07-2011 10:22 PM

Why do you hate America MediaGuy? :(

BIGTYMER 09-07-2011 10:23 PM

Not tired of it. 9/11 never forget.

mattz 09-07-2011 10:46 PM

Yes it's a day to remember, but when they shove it down your throats for two weeks ahead of time, it gets a little old.

Captain Kawaii 09-07-2011 10:57 PM

Its unhealthy, the media that is. US media has become a sick virus.

My heart goes out to the families involved. That was one horrific day.

The families should be allowed to grieve anyway they desire but the 24/7 spin is mind-numbing.

And the sad truth is, the worst is yet to come.

L-Pink 09-07-2011 11:00 PM

While I'm sick of all the patronizing filler stories I'll never lose the fascination of watching actual footage of the towers.

Makizor 09-08-2011 01:04 AM

Well, if no one would mention much about 9/11, There would be a thread titled "WTF, did we all forget already, don't you think?
It is too much for some, too little for others...
Anyway, it is 10th anniversary, this is why the coverage comes earlier and it is more extensive.

they fucked up with building 7. i'm not sure how their plan got fucked up, maybe they thought it would have had more damage than it did from the other buildings coming down.

buildings don't collapse into their own footprint from that amount of damage. in order for that to happen, all main supports have to be removed in a certain order. this is a process that takes a high degree of planning and skill.

even larry silverstein said he gave the order to "pull it". after making that comment he kept quiet because he knew he fucked up. when he was asked a year later he said he was referring to pulling firefighters. well, you don't call a group of people "it" and there were no firefighters in that building at the time because the entire area was considered unsafe.

if another country had the same thing happen to them and they blamed us for the attack, you would have every swinging dick engineer saying it was a textbook demo job.

how could the government do this? we wiped out 1/4 of a million people using two bombs so do you really think they give a fuck about 3K?

One thing people moaning about too much of it on tv, but a joke over a terrorist attack & plenty of hard working people dieing>??? :(

@ the thread, turn over the channel then, I dont think there is ever enough to remember decent people of this fucked up world :2 cents:

czarina 09-08-2011 05:18 AM

I don't watch TV, so no problem for me

MediaGuy 09-08-2011 05:32 AM

I guess people don't read. Sorry I didn't put bullet points.

Didn't talk about America. Didn't talk about flawed Loose Change movies or try to start a debate about what happened.

Nope. Go back. Read again. Still with me? Does your head hurt?

Sorry.

To re-iterate: I'm already sick and tired of news coverage of the 9/11 10th anniversary. They're doing stories about stories about 9/11, they're reporting on their reporting of 9/11.

TV news is a ravenous bottom-feeding hyena that grabs any rotting old bone and gnaws down on it till it's feeding on its own leg.

You could replace "9/11" with "Royal Wedding" if you want. It wasn't about 9/11. At least when the world media were talking about that royal couple crap I could turn to US news 'cause they don't care as much on that, but this is ... relentless. Five minutes news, 20 minutes 9/11, 20 minutes sports - my TV is off.

:D

Anyway, I haven't watched any of the coverage, but will most likely be attending the memorial since I'm from NY.

it's hard not to. every time is see or hear anything about it i'm disgusted. don't get me wrong, i know we have to protect the oil we use...i just think we could have done it a better way.

Scott McD 09-08-2011 11:54 AM

I've watched a few things about it the past week or so.

I think they are just going all out this year because it's the 10th Anniversary.

Probably next year there won't be half as much coverage...
