jmk 09-09-2011 12:35 PM

They can definitely be very annoying. Some are ok, but a lot of them make it very hard to type in the word or numbers or whatever

I hate them too but what else is the solution. Actually I like simple questions or math better.

was there a problem that they needed to add this to?

surly to get to that page you have to enter your ccbill code, username and password.

if somone is signing up lots of times, surly all they need do is diable that account.

TeenCat 09-09-2011 01:02 PM

hackers have been using those pages as gate somewhere? otherwise there is no reason to make it with captcha ... :2 cents:

seeandsee 09-09-2011 01:08 PM

cheap captcha solver companies did it again :))))))) to bypass even more captcha for buyers... Jk, they dont do that for such stuff, 1k captcha solved are not over 2$ these days

This has been a very popular request from numerous clients to have added as a security feature to the affiliate signup process. This will certainly help in regards to ending numerous malicious affiliate signups.

Are there actually people who sign up 3,000 times maliciously to the same program? I've just never seen that with SpookyCash and I'm not thrilled about any additional barrier to new affiliates.

LeRoy 09-09-2011 02:30 PM

You're complaining about extra security for your account?

You're an idiot :2 cents:

with all the respect, how this improve my security? this is not logical and useless. if the captcha will be added to page where you have to put your ccbill username, id and password, it will be logical as you can easily bruteforce the password if you know the two other things, but once you are on second page where are all the affiliates informations and where is captcha now, it is really useless ... :2 cents: but, hope it will helps something, keep up the good work and wish you best with your business! :thumbsup

guess it stops those hosted aff sign up pages that scrape your ccbill/passwd etc who then just post them to ccbill on your behalf while they can then have a good old poke around your aff stats. Seeing what progs you promote, click through rates etc. so :thumbsup

unless they iframe the captcha, so that would be bad

and how? the captcha is not on the password entry page, but after password entry page ... no logic here, unless it is only to stop affiliates signing up to same programs more times, but that will be very drastic and again no logic here :2 cents:

1. no one promotes your sites as you only get 4 sales a month so this has nothing to do with you.

2. stop posting in threads when you have no idea about anything.

You latched on to that '4 sales a month' thing and your sticking with it, even although you are completely fucking wrong.

i think they are questioning why the extra security..

if you went to buy a bag of chips and they asked for a retina scan , you would probably be complaining about the extra security correct ?

Whats up with processing for file sharing sites?

I see nobody from CCBill is addressing this.

I suspect that previous to using the captcha a trivial DoS attack might have been easier to carry out by simply signing up over and over again using various proxies and data to try to exhaust resources (such as available PIDs and the associated database). The captcha likely helps with this a bit.

surly you can add somthing to prevent signing up more than once.

ie

once you sign up and try to re-sign up it takes you back to the page that you have to enter your username/password. and it you do it 3 times in a row, it would automaticly block you, for say 24 hours or longer.

You obviously missed the post where CCBill did address this then. Corvette works for CCBill. Ron owns CCBill.

core_dump 09-11-2011 05:32 AM

I honestly have no clue what page you guys are talking about because I haven't seen a captcha there, but.....

I will say this: As the king of ruining people's lives, I know that 100+ failed preauths a day are a fairly powerful persuasion since it hits them right in the teeth. This silly captcha isn't going to do anything except piss people off. Anyone who can't afford the $2/k for decaptcher obviously isn't remotely serious.

Post proof or reach let the ban hammer slam you :warning

This can effect my business posting lies. Our websites have thrice as much quality in the content, the layout & members, as of yours.

2.... Our websites run ccbill as signup & I am happy to have the added security to stop bots & spamming, grow up you stupid fool.

You are a lazy thick person that deserves no respect & no dignity considering you give little & show none :pimp
