Possibly a dumb ICQ question...
How do I set up an away message on ICQ? I like to keep mine running 24/7 but on the weekends and when I'm sleeping I'd like to have an away message or an auto-responder saying something like "Sorry I'm not here right now, please email me your questions..."
Soooo where do I go to set that up??? http://jayvis.com/icqizzle.jpg Right now I'm doing it via this little box thingy in the image above, but it STILL doesn't seem to auto-respond when people type me a message. Is that the wrong place? If someone could help, I'd appreciate it. Alternatively, if you want to send me a quick test message to: 403443845 to see if it works for you, I'd greatly appreciate it. :helpme:helpme:helpme:helpme:helpme |
If i were you i would download Trillian messenger then link your ICQ and other messengers, then it will even tell you the time you went away and your away message. ICQ sucks balls and always will suck balls.

I am not sure that the autoresponder feature is built in, seems more in the realm of a bot.

I haven't used original client for about a decade, so I cannot help you...

I use QIP and it is very easy to set an away message autoresponder it also has an anti-spam question which cuts down on the bot messages completely

You can set an away message. I haven't turned icq on in months but I remember the feature.
