Fucking horrific

People cheering for letting the uninsured die.

OY 09-13-2011 03:28 AM

Sick.

Just sick.

Coup 09-13-2011 03:35 AM

Profits before people! HOooRAy

BIGTYMER 09-13-2011 03:45 AM

Health insurance should be affordable. And don't even get me started on worthless dental insurance. It's fine for a cavity and that's about it.

Well, truth be told, even in a social democracy like Norway there is no sponsored dental to talk about. Well, except for the first 18 years of your life, it is free. Dental work is not that overly expensive in the US unless you need serious work - Wonder how it is in Great Britain where everyone has teeth like as if they grew up in the countryside in the US :upsidedow

I notice he said "30 year old employed man".

So we will save the people who don't have jobs with medicaid but let the working people die.

:1orglaugh

seeandsee 09-13-2011 04:56 AM

Ron Paul just want to say, if you take the risk, and got in such position, its not easy to say who will pay, but they will not let him die for god sake...

Lucy - CSC 09-13-2011 05:00 AM

Tea Party members are usually the dumb fucks who end up being treated in a barn because they cant afford to pay for insurance.

John-ACWM 09-13-2011 05:04 AM

Terrible people :(

PR_Glen 09-13-2011 05:15 AM

The crowd is horrible and mob like... The governments stance on the subject as a whole (except obama) is far more complicated though unfortunately.

The US is in no financial position to be able to switch on a dime to cover everyones health care. Neither were we, neither were the brittish or the french. We had to start off slowly and built up over many years and even to this day it is hard to manage. If they started off really small, even enforcing some added reform with insurance companies practices it would be huge. If they could at least get that going we would probably all be happy with the progress.

The "moderator" is a very credible man, one of the most trusted news anchors in the world. Wolf Blitzer has his own news show, every weeknight and Saturday afternoons, called The Situation Room.

He has covered multiple presidential elections and is highly trusted, both in the US and internationally.

Guess that makes YOU, the pathetic and uneducated idot... :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

What do you think about natural disasters?

Like the latest flooding in the northeast; should government get involved and
use tax money to bring in food and help people rebuild etc...?

Didn't these people take the risk of living in the normal path of a storms and near
rivers that overflow?

I mean, it never flooded in the mountains, so why do these idiot try to live on
flat land. :1orglaugh

Why don't we save money and let these people die?

I'm just wondering how we can pay out the ass to save one group and then
claim we should not give out charity to another.

The Heron 09-13-2011 06:49 AM

People cheered when he said it was about freedom of choice and living with consequences not that uninsured people should die. Sensational headlines are the only horrific thing I see here.
I have a genetic problem that can run up huge medical bills and as much as I'd love socialized healthcare to pay for it I don't want to wait in lines and deal with the other problems so yes if it ever came down to me not being able to afford to pay let me die, survival of the fittest and such makes sense to me.

We do.

You could even come to the UK on vacation, get in an accident and break your leg, be fixed up for free and sent home and I would pay for that too.

Go and watch Sicko.

Shaft_1971 09-13-2011 06:52 AM

That was one of the major things that stuck out to me from this debate...It was quite remarkable that he got cheered on for what he said.

Was a very interesting debate to watch.

Ethersync 09-13-2011 06:58 AM

Here is the whole clip:

Ron Paul is right on this. The few idiots in the crowd saying, "Yeah!" don't represent his position.

spazlabz 09-13-2011 07:02 AM

The crowd in the clip shown is definitely embarrassing to me as an American who has what could be considered a social consciousness. The "let them die' argument I feel went out of vogue in Dickens time.

I missed the tea party debate last night (dammit) but I watched the one last week and was pretty disgusted at the crowd cheering for the death penalty and the over 200 executions in Texas. I do feel the death penalty has its place and use but cheering for it like your team just score a touchdown is barbaric and disgusting behavior. Those people should be ashamed :Oh crap

I agree. That disturbed me as well.

CamJack 09-13-2011 07:21 AM

Now I gotta watch it.

Cherry7 09-13-2011 07:32 AM

People forget what the point of work, factories, science and the economy is ...

the pursuit of happiness, and it is difficult to be happy when people lack medical care, the right to a good defense (and end up executed), poor housing, living in Ghettos etc

The major contradiction of capitalism as it concentrates wealth in ever fewer hands...

now that's not fair. I am sure that many of them or those that express support for them are your normal average Americans who are way too busy or distracted to pay much attention to politics, only have one or maybe two sources for news and are ignorant to the reality of what they are supporting.

The elderly gentleman holding a sign that says (in effect) "Keep your government hands off my medicare"... it is just ignorance. I don't blame them for not knowing but I do blame them for their lack of intellectual curiosity to challenge what they are spoon fed. :2 cents:

Whats he right about? Getting sick and hoping your neighborhood church helps ya out?

LAJ 09-13-2011 10:47 AM

Irony here being that a lot of so called "tea party" people are working class and barely scratching out a living and will never amount to much of anything their whole lives, and often times can't afford health insurance. These people continually vote against their own best interests.

Britain brought in free health care in 1948, after being almost wiped off the map by Hitler, still recovering from the destruction of WWII, the British economy, like the cities, in ruins, losing its Empire, rationing of food still in place (till the 50s) and the medical establishment opposing and resisting it. And they did it. And despite the initial resistance, today you won't find anyone in the NHS who doesn't support free health care.

Billions can be pulled out of thin air to bail out the wealthy and connected, or to kill people thousands of miles away, but no money can ever be found to protect and look after poor Americans at home?

Why is it people can accept the concept of free education, but not free healthcare? WTF is the point of a society that doesn't even have, as its first priority, the welfare of its own members?

2MuchMark 09-13-2011 11:44 AM

Un fucking real!!

The cost of socialized medicine is far less than the cost of wars, the bush tax cuts, and the tax credits to the wealthy yet nobody seems to realize it. I cannot understand for the life of me how ANYONE with a brain can be a tea party member or a republican. Care to explain this, Sally Rand?

Rochard 09-13-2011 11:52 AM

I was just reading about this on Yahoo news. Horrible really...

It's hard to believe that people would just say "let them die without medical attention"...

L-Pink 09-13-2011 11:55 AM

Keep in mind the question is about someone in a coma. Not someone that's ill ..... Just saying.

Rod Paul did not say anyone should die, no one cheered for any such statement as no such statement was made except by Wolf Blitzer.

In a typical action by the Propaganda Ministers of the Left, this video was both taken out of context and edited by them.

Here is the REAL thing:

DWB 09-13-2011 01:07 PM

I agree with Ron Paul on that one.

Not sure why anyone would applaud letting someone in a coma die, but that is their choice to believe that they should.
