Reminder To All People Travelling From Canada/US To Amsterdam/Prague/London (Thank me later!)
Call your mobile phone companies (before you leave) and tell them you are travelling to europe and you need a temporary plan to cover you for texts/data and limited phone calls. I have been hit with almost a $2000 phone bill coming home one time.
I just called Rogers and added on a plan that covers me for limited text/data and phone and it was still like $100 LOL! $50 for 10 megs worth of data transfer LOL! Anyways hope everyone has a safe trip over the pond, look forward to making some deals and toasting some beers with you! :thumbsup:drinkup Hit me up if you would like to meetup to discuss mobile traffic or banners/popunders/hardlinks etc... Cheers, Mark |
And I posted a week ago about OFFMAPS, it's an offline map so you can find your way around without a cent charged to your data plan!

Thanks for the reminder......

That is why i have two cellphones, one usual to receive calls and second to insert domestic sim card and make calls with it.Dont know for uk/nl but in cz it's damn cheap to make international/domestic calls with vodafone.

Also, doesn't hurt to call your credit card companies as well and let them know your traveling as well.

I just went to Canada, but me and the wife combined racked up about 70 bucks in roaming charges. We were too busy seeing Vancouver to be downloading stuff on our phones.
|
Be sure to turn your data roaming on , your apps to all push and your email to fetch every 5 min
Have a great show |
I have a spare phone with me that i get SIM cards for. Incoming calls free + better per minute rate.
|
Another great tip is to double check how much luggage you're allowed to bring on each of your flights. My wife works with Sunwing, and they charge $20 per kilogram for overweight luggage, including your carryon. Some people get banged for like $800 because they brought too much stuff and didn't want to throw it all away at the airport. Bitches bringing 2 pairs of shoes per day they'll be on vacation, etc.

if you're a Verizon customer, they have this http://b2b.vzw.com/international/Glo...vel/index.html
I'm going over there in a few hours to reactivate my old Black Berry Storm, add the cost of $4.99 for the plan and change it back when I return |
thx for the reminders
|
Upgraded my data and text messages after I learned from you silly Canadians from previous shows.
