Realiable web hosts?

We're looking for a reliable web host for a few mainstream sites we're setting up. A standard web package will be fine for now, but must also have good upgrade packages.

Please don't mention Amerinoc as so far I've found their customer "service" to be pretty horrible....

JamesChoopa 09-20-2011 09:45 AM

Hey,

Shoot me an email. I'm sure we can get you something in place.

halfpint 09-20-2011 09:51 AM

Hi there.. from looking at your site, I think you're offering a bit more than we're looking for just yet. But I've got you bookmarked if we decide to move this venture up another few levels :)

For small sites they work very well and they have always helped me out with problems even with a hacking problem I had a few years back they went out of thier way to help find the hole in the script which was nothing really to do with them

National Net. It's all about the service, and Nat Net is tops.

There are hosts all over the place. I tend to use GoDaddy for domain registration but not hosting. Hosting I do through a reseller account.

Tube Ace 09-20-2011 11:11 AM

CertifiedHosting has been outstanding so far.

Just to clear some stuff up as comments like these can do more harm than anything. I looked through our recent orders found the reason the op has stated the "service" was horrible.

As with any order that comes in without card present and the billing address is 2000 miles from the ip that is signing up... It will get flagged for manual review, Then we need some time to review it and set up the account if it all checks out.Sorry this has upset you but it is standard operating procedure around here.

Again my apologies and good luck on your search.

TubeSubmitters 09-20-2011 11:18 AM

Get a virtual account at cyberwurx, $6.25 including five ips, cant go wrong with that and their awesome support.

I'm sorry, you did not flag it for manual review. You did not contact me as per the norm asking for identification documents like everyone else does. No, you simply canceled the order and marked it as fraud. You didn't even bother to send me an email explaining why until I contacted you.

Also, I'm not sure what you meant by "without card present" because we never got to the payment stage. We signed up, got the welcome email, logged in to pay the invoice and then it got flagged for fraud and canceled. We didn't have an opportunity to move beyond that.

Your reply here is completely inaccurate and borderline fabricated. I'm sorry that my statement in the OP upset you... but you did not follow the "S.O.P. around here". You wrote us off as a fraudulent join for a 3 year hosting account that amounts to less than $200 and then found out via this thread that we're legitimate.

Anyway, I did not intend to spark drama, so I will leave it at that... because it's really not that big of a deal.

Based on what dealings with us do you have the nerve to call us crap? You're obviously not an affiliate of ours else you'd be singing a much different tune.. so I suppose that makes you nothing more than a little troll.

HomerSimpson 09-20-2011 02:32 PM

I've personally tried many hosts and use at least 5 right now and I could always recommend Certified Hosting / Naked Hosting to anyone :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

- no downtimes
- real 24/7 support (no outsourced monkeys)
- based in Las Vegas (all the fun is in there + no hurricanes)
- cPanel / WHM :pimp

This is true, if you're going for shared, Hostgator is a dream! :thumbsup

24/7 Live Support

GrouchyAdmin 09-20-2011 02:34 PM

If you want cheap, DWHS works fine for virtual/shared, as does WebAir.
If you want hosted with 24/7 support, I like ISPrime, NatNet, Choopa.

I'd say the 24/7 support is key, there are some hosts who never answer phones and take a day to reply to an email; not good when a site is down

LeRoy 09-20-2011 02:39 PM

Yeah, I was quite short with Amerinoc, and the comment in my OP was uncalled for. At the time of the OP I was highly irritated because we've never been simply written off as fraud before, not once since 2006 when we started. So I took it more personally than i should have, even though the norm in a situation like mine would be to request identifying documents, then proceed with account setup.

Anyway, apologies to you guys at Amerinoc because I could have left that comment out either way.

I'm not really sure what your issue is, but I emailed you this morning detailing exactly why our system flagged it as fraud which then logs the order. You need to check your email or log back into our support system where you can clearly see my reply to you and why it was flagged for fraud..

There is nothing fabricated in the response from Moose, nor in mine, we've been doing this for over 10 years and we simply don't do things that way. You ordered from an open proxy and we simply do not take orders like that without an explanation, and frankly, we don't go chasing after the explanation as experience has taught us that most are indeed fraud. That is also probably why you had problems connecting to us on live chat. You emailed us and rudely told us how you felt about it all and to not bother changing it, but I still took the time to respond to you and explain why this happened. Even though you expressed your desire for us to "Have a horrible day". I hope yours gets better and wish you and your new host well.

Regards,
Matt

As I said, I was not contacted regarding this issue until I made the inquiry. The account was simply canceled with the only "explanation" being fraud. Normal practice has automated systems set up to flag and request more information from the customer (like identification). Also, I signed up via my secure vpn, not an open proxy, which i use for all forms of business. I understand it can trigger red flags and that wasn't my issue... my issue was that that was the end of it from your end in which I had to reach out and inquire. Thus making my experience "pretty horrible".

Anyway, as stated in my previous post, the comment was uncalled for, and I certainly didn't intend for this to turn into some huge drama over essentially nothing. So again, I apologize for the remark as well as my impatience with your company.
