Yahoo News comments blow me away

Ever think it would be good to read the comments on Yahoo News? Sometimes I read them purely for entertainment... but man, it's sad seeing how retarded people in this country really are.

Rep. John Fleming fields criticism over 600K income

This just goes to show you the insane animosity people have towards people who have achieved a high level of success.

This guy and people like him are blatantly lying or not telling the whole truth. $400,000 is more than enough to do whatever the hell he wants to do. 6.3million and he's complaining about paying his workers and purchasing equipment, then going on to say without saying that if he has to pay more taxes basically he will lay some of them off because his family is a bunch of spoiled rich people who need $200,000 to eat. There's people who survive off of very little in this country and he means to tell us he cant? Republicans created this problem during the bush era but they sure don't feel the effects of it...so of course they'll disagree with anyone trying to change anything. Cuz really lets face it, he and his family will not DIE or have to resort to a lower level of living if they were faced with increased taxes because one their making too much money and two they could always fire their butlers/chiefs, take less golf vacations, and basically learn to live and do things like every other hard working American. In fact, it would be better if he was taxed to the point where he couldn't enjoy the lavished life that he does because he'll finally start to care and understand more about the middle/lower class than just his business and himself. Are we not tired of politicians going into office for themselves?
This douche needs a swift kick in the balls. :winkwink:

Yeah, I think we should all look forward to being taxed so fucking hard we finally start to care and understand more about the middle/lower class. Let's just work like dogs and sign our paychecks away, so we can understand each other better.

Where do these people come from?

Well, up until the "Republicans created...." bit, he had a valid point. Not because I'm blaming Reps or Dems but because the issue has been around much longer than the Bush era. And the bold portion is plain idiocy.

But there are facts in the initial part of his statement. And it's not about "penalizing" those who were "more successful" (which btw is a very shallow way to view things because without employees your business wouldn't survive and thus you wouldn't be wealthier than they are), it's about holding them equally responsible for our countries stability.

Let me put it a different way.... if the middle class were suddenly to disappear.. the US would crash and burn within a year. Because after it's all said and done, the middle class is what keeps the wheels turning.

And to make it clear my position.. I'm not for raising taxes per say.. but I am for everyone paying an equal percentage in taxes. I am also for reducing the number of loopholes there are in the system which allow the wealthier people to write off nearly everything they would owe in taxes anyway...

Yes, it's obvious that the wealthier people would pay a higher amount in taxes if the percentage were equal.. but only by default. But IMHO.. every American, regardless of financial status, should pay the same %.

It doesn't matter at the end of the day.. the only reason behind anything finally getting done about things now is next years elections... After that it'll be back to the norm of politicians fighting for their own personal gains instead of actually giving a shit about the state or well being of the country.

Interesting video.... so at 2:37 she says his companies made 6 million dollars last year, which he confirmed. Then at 2:40 he says he pays 500 employees and some other crap.

Ummm.... 6,000,000 / 500 = $12000 per employee?

I love how the guy mixes personal and business taxes like they're the same because it's an llc...and like he wouldn't simply invest it to avoid paying the extra tax, duh.
