xxx landrush, what's the right moment?
Just bought 12 xxx domains as part of sunrise 2. Wallet's empty now.
Now I want to register some domains for which I don't have trademark or .com domain, under landrush conditions, but what's the right moment? If I buy them now, they might still be available, I pay... but if next week someone registers the same domain under sunrise 1, 2 or 3 conditions I won't get them but I won't get all my money back either, right? So does it make sens to wait with landrush xxx purchase till sunrise 1, 2 and 3 are closed? |
I can see why you like Paul Markham now.
Makes great sense. |

http://about.xxx/launch/ You will have priority to register certain domains, based on your ability to qualify under each phase of registration. Good luck! |
I'll be registering mine as soon as I open the window and see this...

EDIT: at the site I'm registering ALL domains and keywords show as available, that's the problem. What they're trying to do make multipe people buy and pay for the same xxx domain, then they will refund your annual fee but they won't refund the administration fee. Now I don't know if they will continue showing all domains as available till the end of landrush or whether domains that have been registered under sunrise will stop showing as available when landrush starts. |
From your link Salem:
Landrush is a limited-time opportunity for those who don’t qualify for Sunrise A but want to secure a valued .XXX domain name and avoid first come, first served General Availability risks. The Landrush period will run for approximately 18 days starting on November 8, 2011. During this limited period, only those members of the adult Sponsored Community can apply for .XXX domain names. Apart from being a member of the adult Sponsored Community, there are no trademark or pre-ownership rights requirements during this phase of the launch. There is no first come, first served ranking during Landrush. At the end of the Landrush period, those .XXX domain names with a single applicant will be automatically allocated. However, those .XXX domain names with more than one applicant will proceed to a closed mini-auction between the competing parties only. Landrush is designed for those members of the adult Sponsored Community that want to secure premium .XXX domain names and guarantees either member the chance to purchase premium .XXX domain names or be involved in a closed auction to bid for .XXX domain names. ------------------- On the site I use I can already register for Landrush now... so what's the right moment to do it, that's my questionmark. |
Get the rope boys!!

It is a great tool but only use it when you find some members to be very troublesome, and who offer no solid advice here. The second takes some time. Viewership is highest here, as this board is a mix of crazy drama, good advice, and regular news. Noone knows where dot XXX will be in a few years time. Investing early is a risk, but it also has its rewards if consumers will be conditioned properly to consider XXX when they are searching for something adult related. |

Seek out the advice of Paul Markham and Nalem and you will do fine. Just ignore the rest of us and let us know next year when you let your .xxx domains expire because you didn't make anything from them if you still think you made a good decision. |

the pre-reg doesn't guarantee the name, the fine print says... so I am waiting til I can dns the bitch before I get mine.... no idea if they are giving priority to some.
It's like the first week of December I think, that pre-reg is done. |
SHAME ON YOU for buying the xxx domains! Is people like you that will ruin our industry!

No one wants you here. And we don't give a shit about your .XXX campaign... :321GFY |
I call shenanigans.
He likes Markham and think he is smart AND he is buying .XXX? I call troll. |
I read that the names with multiple reservations will be auctioned by pool. Will these auctions be open to the public or do they still have to involve "the community" at that stage?

First, to clear things up, the first 12 domains were bought under sunrise 2, we own the com domains, there are no trademark holder or other competetors so WE WILL get them, my question was about registering additional domains under LANDRUSH.
I don't see the problem. We now have 60 .com domains of which 20 are active sites and the other 40 are just for SEO and e-mail spamming purposes. Now we're going to have another 12 xxx domains which will be duplicates of some of the excisting active 20 com sites. Nowhere am I reading that if you register analfist.xxx, your analfist.com domain will be terminated. So what's the problem? As Nalem writes, NOBODY can predict the future and xxx domains aren't info or biz domains. What is Google's policy going to be on ranking xxx domains for adult keyword searches? Are they going to ignore the xxx or are they going to put them on top? So far Google's policy on porn content has been very liberal and they even exploit porn by accepting porn sites for AdWords (with a tiny bit of censoring). IF they put them on top, it's a good investment and these xxx domains are going to earn themselves back within one day ($120 per xxx domain, 4 sales of $29.95 (not taking recurring into consideration), et voila). I can understand that if you have 1 site making $50 a day, you can't afford taking risks. But that's your problem, don't reflect it on me. We're making tons a year. If xxx isn't going to work for us, then we still have the coms, and then we can wrap the xxx around our cocks or shove them up each other's asses, get drunk, have a barbecue, and then pretent we never bought them. If xxx is going to work for us but some countries will block them out completely, we still have the coms. We don't have much sales in Iran and China anyway, do you? Be and think positive people and try to make some decent money by being productive instead of being the negative poor homeless tramp sleeping in a cardboard box trying to impress your online loser buddies with taking trash to people that were already in the industry when you were still semen in your daddy's scrotum. As for the LANDRUSH, admin costs are only $60 which you don't get back if you don't get the domain and I'm just going to take the risk here as well. If I register 10 and I get 5, it as worth the investment and I'll be happy, and have another barbecue, outside in the snow in the Alps under the xmas tree in December. My cock's getting hard already. |
