I say let them do it. They're kids, they can't do THAT much damage to each other... but on that same note, they SHOULD definitely be wearing gloves/headgear/mouth guards. I was in karate at that age and I got fucking ROCKED a few times by kids who were a few years older than me but were the same size. I'd probably not have all my real teeth were it not for a good old mouth guard.

I live down the road from a huge gypsey area. They make their kids do bare knuckle boxing from the moment they turn 3. By 16 most of them are missing atleast one visable tooth.

In the UK, MMA is still very much on the fringe and still referred to as cage fighting. And as you say, they weren't even doing MMA, just submission wrestling. I know in the Uk that young boys are allowed to fight in amateur boxing and kickboxing contests, so this moral hoohaa is really over the top.

There's an infamous video of a tubby young boy, probably about 14, being pounded into the ground in a real (amateur) mma bout in America (by an top level adult MMA fighter - Ben Rothwell) with Jeremy Horn acting as the referee. You can even hear people in the crowd saying how disgusting it was.

Kids needs to be loved and hugged and protected. In another forum someone wrote today that's about time that all the idiots move to one side of the globe and all the normal people (like you, and me) move to the other side of the globe. It is so true.
