Please help me settle an argument....new pictures in a gallery, put them on the left or the right?

I'm having an argument with my wife. She's a hobby breeder (please leave the breeding/adopting arguments out of this thread), and I take the weekly pictures of the puppies and put them on the site.

The newest litter arrived last week. So, for the past week, there was only one picture of each pup. I took new pictures today and put them up on the site. For each puppy, there are now two pictures: 1 Week Old and 1 Day Old. So, thinking from a marketing perspective, in the row, I placed the newest picture first, then the oldest. My thinking is that if you're showing these puppies, and stating that they are a certain age, you want that picture (the most recent) first. Then people can cycle through the older pictures.

So, my pictures would look like this:

2 week old pic * 1 week old pic * 1 Day old pic

My wife's argument is that you read from left to right. So she says the older pics should go to the left and the newest to the right. My son sided with her, claiming it's "like a timeline." So they think the pictures should look like this:

1 Day old pic * 1 week old pic * 2 week old pic

I maintain that the "read from left to right" argument is irrelevant in this case, as you don't want a potential customer to have to flip through a bunch of old stuff to get to the newest. She insists I'm thinking too much along the lines of adult paysites. She's called her parents about it, and is now posting on her facebook...lol.

So....should the new pictures go on the left, or should the old ones stay to the left and the newest to the right?

use the best one first, so probably 2 week old one first, that one looks most like a cute puppy...
the other 2 probably look like some alien lifeform... :1orglaugh

Sit her down and tell her you and your penis took a vote and she lost.

at first i said to myself, why is this guy posting about puppies here? then i remembered that this keeps coming up lol

there was a thread about page ordering a couple months ago that might help figure it out. otherwise i would just do whatever Facebook does. 212% of the world's population is on Facebook.

no doubt about it: new pics on the left.

you're looking at it the right way, from a marketing perspective.

your wife is looking at it in a baby picture album kinda way....

Cutest pic on top, timeline below if possible.

Newest on the left. Had to think about this one for a bit though. If I were looking for a puppy, I would want to see the most recent first.
