How hard is it to make a logo like this?

I love this logo http://fitperez.com/
I suck at photoshop. would this logo be hard to remake?

indo 09-27-2011 11:50 AM

bro, go to 99designscom

that logo is nothing special. its attractive but its only got like 3 or 4 photoshop effects going. a background, a stroke, some dropshadow, some typography, and colors. thats about it

Sid70 09-27-2011 12:12 PM

there no more designers left on gfy cus webmasters now can use photochop too.

KLAN 09-27-2011 01:01 PM

actually that logo sucks a lot.....
Like indo said it is really easy to do that: one or 2 pixel in stroke, dropshadow angle of about 130° and maybe 10-15 pixels distance, filled with white color in the first three letters and a gradient color for the others.

I suggest you to watch some photoshop tutorial for logos on youtube

Matt 26z 09-27-2011 02:09 PM

That logo should be pretty straight forward for a Photoshop newbie to recreate.

While the logo sucks in terms of wow factor and required Photoshop technique, that can be said for the logo of just about every Fortune 500 company. I think a different font would have improved this one though.

Emil 09-27-2011 02:18 PM

Even I could do it.

clickhappy 09-27-2011 04:26 PM

Well the best part of it is the starburst behind it, so how hard is it to do that?

Deej 09-27-2011 04:34 PM

Very simple...

not really. It should take you just a little more time....
take a look to this, maybe can help you for what you need.
http://www.webdesign.org/photoshop/d...ine.15586.html
then just work on it as the base of the logo and remember that to make it more sheer you have to use the rubber tool with a low opacity.

KLAN 09-27-2011 04:41 PM

no problem mate

raymor 09-27-2011 04:50 PM

The photoshop skills (or logo maker tool) are one thing. Even I can do that. Coming up with a logo design that sells your brand is another matter. One thing I know is companies who spend millions on market research and such have SIMPLE logos. See Apple, Crysler, or Dell. No cool Photoshop effects there.

there's nothing on your website that would back that up. if you're a designer why don't you have a working website with a portfolio?

Simple in the past few weeks this is my actually my first 10 mins that im not doing someone's site....

As for now Im not working on my stuff atm, self promotion comes AFTER the client... some designers have that part mixed up. ^^

And I did not meant that as an offense, just saying ^^, Want to know my skills? Test me :D as i always say... well sometimes, well first time for anything eh? :D

That's a very good example. Often a simple logo is the better key to attract attention and easy to remember. Nowadays when you see an apple in your kitchen you associate it to the big industry APPLE and so on. One of the most important things in marketing (because the logo is indeed a part of it) is to create things easy to remember.......

I know... a lot of ppl are better than me. I learn from them ^^ But if you say that a successful webmaster has the time to be a designer as well that is something i don't really think so.

Imho you can do a lot of things. You can be designer, programmer and webmaster in the same time. But you wont be good at these you will be stuck on acceptable levels, because you wont have the time to learn new stuff for everything.

For instance I do video editing, design, drawing, painting, html and css coding etc But i will never be a good editor like some high budget Hollywood editor. I will never be a top html and css coder who participates in the development of new html formats and code elements. Thus i will always be "average" on these fields.

I do design work daily 12-16 hours. Adult/mainstream for web and print I do hand drawn stuff, And I will never be super awesome, just above average on these fields but at least i try to push my limits.

So in short: Im not saying that there aren't webmasters out there who cant outdesign me but I would really like to see and talk to one to know how much pressure it means to him.

Thats's called Specialization.
The contrary is called Diversify.
Nowadays i think the seond one is better....but that's just my opinion that worth shit!
However, is there even a single link on your site that works? I think maybe I found one or two that work. It is not a good advertise to provide ppl a site that does not have any link working, most likely they will not come back to your site (neither after when you will updated it) due the fact the first impression was bad! ....but that's my opinion that worth......:upsidedow

gimme-website 09-27-2011 11:10 PM

It would take the OP several hours to make something like this. It would take a decent designer several minites.....

seeandsee 09-27-2011 11:22 PM

its not that hard to make it...
what is your budget?

d-null 09-27-2011 11:32 PM

that logo stinks, not the work of a professional that is for sure, sad how far down the toilet graphic design has gone in the last couple of decades :2 cents:

(and if it is the work of a "professional" ie. someone that charges money for design, more power to them then, I guess)

LeRoy 09-27-2011 11:45 PM

Basics :2 cents:

Do a contest thread for 20 bucks and I bet a few jump on it :thumbsup

martinsc 09-27-2011 11:48 PM

yup, looks pretty basic and easy to do!
