They have sites that scrap old school newsgroups, they have been doing it for years, anyone that's been around knows it.. They also have very good exclusive content sites, not sure why they need to scrape for some sites, dump em and go legit!

As for Serious Partners, it's hard to fathom why they would bother scraping content when they do have some good quality sites with their own or licensed content, in my experience many of their sites convert poorly anyway. As the OP stated, they are thieves, if they are prepared to steal content then how can you trust them to fully pay you for all sales ?

So many threads are about affiliates getting ripped off, customers getting screwed, etc. Any program basing their product on stolen content will sooner or later stiff their affiliates as well.

Companies like this need outed, they don't need positive comments about content that is being posted with the sole purpose of generating affiliate traffic.

Attention needs drawn to the downside of programs like this, not deflected.

Not only that, but Serious Partners does a buttload of original content which is entirely their own stuff so IMO they are far more legit than many out there.

If you want to go after thieves go after big tubes/torrents because those bastards don't pay for shit, they just steal.

Because if they took the content down then what's the problem? To me at least they realized they had some stolen content and they acted.

And yes illegal tubes/torrents have buttloads of affiliates and they get more everyday, and if you look carefully some of them post here all the time;)

I don't believe that it was a "user submitted" site, which means any of the stolen content was put directly there by them. Not that it's ok for any of the "user submitted sites," but when it's a site fully populated by your own staff, there's absolutely no excuse for having any stolen content.

But were they sold the content under the pretense that it was legal to use?
You are assuming they just ripped it off of some site, or do you know something more about this?

Just going by what I read in the original thread with the Japanese content. Even if they took the content down, they never acknowledged or responded to the complaints. If they bought the content from a shady provider under the impression that it was legal to use, why wouldn't they apologize and say that? From what was posted in that thread, even if they did buy the content from a shady provider, it would not have had the required 2257 docs, which should have been a red flag for them. On top of that, also in that thread, it was pointed out that this instance wasn't the first time stolen content appeared on their sites. Technically I guess it would be considered an assumption, but the evidence looks pretty damning.

I don't know much about AdultKing but I do know some of his threads have been pretty helpful to me. I'm still semi-new to this business and some of his threads have had some good advice that I found helpful in my opinion.

So you feel it's ok, good business, to start a pay-site made with content someone else has obviously spent time and money to produce.

You feel it's ok to profit off of others work.

You feel that once caught just go ahead and remove it no big deal.

You feel that this type of program is good for affiliates to join.

Cool, I'm going to the site in your sig, buy a bunch of your products with stolen credit card information. Don't worry if you catch me I'll retract the order and you can then tell everyone what a great customer I am.

Thanks for making this thread...it's horrible to see some sponsors get away with this and I remember having Serious Partners bookmarked because I was thinking about promoting them but after reading some of your posts about them I completely changed my mind. I don't like the idea of them stealing content and I see your point about them having the potential to screw affiliates in the long run.

Every now and then you see sponsors that steal content post here about new promotions etc and it's frightening to see so many replies saying "Congrats! Keep up the good work!" etc etc...because supporting sponsors that have stolen content in the past will only hurt this business in the long run.

Still assumptions.
Here is what I do know. Serious Partners has been in the biz for a while now and their flagship sites are content they make which is top notch.
I have never seen any actual evidence to either past "theft" or evidence pointing the the idea that they knowingly ripped off another company's content, and I really doubt a company the size of Serious Partners goes off willy nilly just ripping off content.

Unless they are just completely nuts.
