Sounds like fun! :thumbsup :stoned My wife created the artwork for about a half dozen of those games (she's even in the Video Arcade Game Hall of Fame)...she can play most games for half an hour on a single quarter - and of course, she must have the high score on every machine that she plays, lol. :arcadefre I'm more of an old school pinball wizard myself... :pimp ADG |
20 years ago I sold my old Pinball Machine "King of Diamonds" for $300 , it was made by Gottlieb, I continue to kick myself about it today :(

No Arkanoid, the list isn't complete!
|
I will post some photos I took last week. We have the National Museum of PLay here where I live and we go there once a week with the kids.
They have a nice video game floor with a large collection of old arcade machines you can play. |
Back in the days
|
mame ftw
|
i love pacman, but Dinosaurs and Cadillacs is my favorite arcade game, but its from 90s
|
When I was a kid my dad's shop was next to a place that repaired old pinball machines. My dad got a deal on an old Star Trek pinball machine. That rocked.
|
No Missile Command?
|
I've got a mame cabinet with thousands of old games. Not as cool as an original machine, but it's nice to have all the games in one cabinet.
|
you should watch The King of Kong
|
I would LOVE one of these:

I'll still play Galaga whenever I run into a machine. How much does a decently restored Galaga machine go for?
|
I loved Berzerk, Defender, and Robotron 2084. Centipede, Galaga, and Xevious being runners-up.
Qix and QBert. Tempest! I have a bunch of these on my PS3, but I'm gonna re-download MAME and grab some ROMs. CurentlySober, sounds like you had a very good day to me. Good stuff! |
Starblade used to blow me away when i was younger aswell:

Sweet memories... :pimp

I tried with my brother to make a Bubble Bobble machine. Couldnt get the cage working.

BTW, you would be surprised how easy this game is with mouse instead of gun controller (you can play it on MAME with mouse control). I finished game with one credit without a problem. |

Good choice on a wife :) I collect old slot machines, pace, mills, jennings. I would love a Pinball Wizard or Captain Fantastic machine. Too pricey though. |
I built my own several years ago, with all of those games you listed and about 3000 more.

I own a Ms Packman machine, and another one, the name escapes me at this moment. Trying to restore the 2nd one, thought I had the part, bought it on Ebay, but wouldnt work when it got here:( Ms Packman also needs work, it used to be good working order, till my friends beat the shit out of it playing it:disgust
|
This is the sort of thing I always end up playing. Never really got into video machines. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ARCADE-2P-...item3cbcc6dd37
|
I have all those games in my MAME emulator now, it's like a dream come true to have them all after years of wasting money with them. :upsidedow
|
love the old machines. those games are still a blast to play. have many of them in my MAME as well. :)
|
Oh Fuck I LOVED Carnival!
Stargate was my other fave... looks like they didn't have that one? Also... anyone familiar with "jack the giant killer"... I've seen one machine my whole life. That game was awesome... |
I always drew a crowd while playing the original stand-up cabinet version of Missile Command.
You can play them all with MAME32. |
Here's a great resource to look up all of your faves: http://www.arcade-museum.com/
My faves are the original "Star Wars" and the sit down version of "Spy Hunter" :2 cents::thumbsup:winkwink::pimp |

When the hurricane hit the east coast - all of jersey boys had to spend an extra day in Montreal.
A bunch of us went out to dins that last extra night - found a random small arcade in alley by chance. Battled it out w/ TMM Adam and Rob playing Street fighter. |
No Dragons lair.
That thing used to have crowds around it when it came out. |

Its just whats available at the time - Machines get sold - New ones arrive - etc etc... There was actually a a Dragons Lair 2 Machine (Time Warp) there when I was last at the place a year ago... That was cool - Had never seen the sequel (IRL - NOT MAME) before... But thats the joy of it - Each time you go, you get a slightly diff selection - and they are all original dedicated cabs - Which makes i really nice :) |
I have one of these. Let's me play all my old 80's and 90's favorites. Over 3000 games on it.
