What is the name for the exaggerated/forced type of Australian that the likes of Steve Irwin used to speak?

I meant to put " around 'exaggerated/forced' because that is how it can come across to some people. I've heard of 'Strine' before, but I don't think that is what it was called to me a few years back. |

Essentially a term used Australia wide but not surprising it's not a well known word. Even in Australia current generations are not well read enough to be familiar with the term.

This version sheds a new light. Strange in WWII, we actually stopped the bad guys. Since then, even if we go after bad guys, it seems to be a long Fuck-up. When you get down to it, WW I and the US Civil War were Fuck-ups. So many died, for so little. |

Long live our natural language "Strine", save Bindi Irwin and good health to Stingrays! :2 cents: |

I lived in Australia for 5 years and raised my son in that culture. I'm moving back soon after my son is settled into college here in the U.S. next year :thumbsup |
