He tweeted about it and he’ll be staying up all night. TechCrunch TV caught up with Woz and asked him why he does it. He explains what feature the new phone has that will change his life. There have been 4 people outside the Apple store in Manhatten for 17 days to be first in line. Pre ordered ours being delivered to our door today. You would think people that loved tech gadgets so much would know how to work the internets.

Can you only get the iphone at the Apple store today? I was going to swing by the ATT store this morning after a conference call cause I figure it won't be packed. Fuck going to the Apple store though, that place is a zoo to begin with - definitely not going on the day of a product launch. I hate crowds.

Maybe it's a generational thing but to me a phone is just a tool, an appliance. The only time I give a fuck about my toaster is if I want toast. The only time I care about my screwdriver is when I need to tighten or loosen something. The only time I care about my phone is if it rings or I need to contact someone. What am I missing?

Buddy and I were walking past the AT&T store this morning. I could not figure out why so many people lined up outside. That must be it.

i'm in a popular neighborhood in chicago and i walked up to the att store at 9am (they opened at 8) and was out the door by 9:30.

Except it's $200.

Mine was on pre-order, not sure when I will get it. Never thought I would buy an iPhone, but I need to check out the voice technology.

$200 with a 2 year contract for a $60/month phone plan or something like that (so total cost more like $1500)... but that's not even the point, I just find it weird, that people are comparing the economy now a days to the great depression... and yet we see lines with people waiting hours to buy a new gadget...

... then after they pick up the new iphone, half the people there will probably march over to the "Occupy Wall Street" rally to bitch about how the rich are taking advantage of them... :1orglaugh

I have a very simple Samsung mobile which is pre-paid and when I'm not shooting I don't even bother to buy credit so people who need me can phone me on my home phone or leave a message.

Picked up two for my kids this morning, but didn't snap a pic. About 40 or so people in line at 7 AM... store opened at 8. Probably another 40 or so behind me by then.
