Partnerships with models... what percentage to pay?
To webmasters / program owners that have a partnership with a model, what percentage do you pay your models?
I have a model who wants to do a 65 (for her) / 35 (for me) split. She says that she has talked to several other girls who have that same arrangement, and that she needs to make more to bring other girls in to shoot with, location fees, wardrobe, etc. She shoots the content and uploads it to me each week. I take care of editing, hosting, affiliate stuff, billing, customer support, general webmaster duties, site design, etc. Just wanted to get feedback from others... thanks. |
50/50 after expenses.
Doing it and works fine. |

Sounds like she is trying to get her 50% and have you pay her production costs if possible. |
We pay 70% on the dollar.
This can be split with 'super affiliates' that make their phone ring. |
equal split.
There's a lot more work in running a site than shooting a few videos so they also have to promote their sites, answer e-mails, chat to fans etc... not just provide content. If they were just providing the content I'd purchase it outright and not profit share. |

never anything over 50%. and less for a model if she's not providing the content meaning webmaster isn't paying for the production of the content.
there's a girl on Model Mayhem who's interested in doing a site, she wants $80,000 and she's serious :1orglaugh |
We do 50/50 with the models on Lifestyle Amateurs.
The models produce and upload the content. |
35% doesn't seem worth the risk/effort. At some point she will quit, no matter what you pay her, and you'll be stuck with a dead site and only 35% after all of your work. Don't forget that affiliates will be disappointed when they find a dead solo girl site in your program.

I think it really depends on what the model is doing. I know sites like Southern-Charms work a 50/50 split with the models, however their is less actual marketing costs to promote each model as they are a "brand". Similar to what Thomas007 mentions they do with LifestyleAmateurs.
Its my opinion that a model for a solo site should receive no more than 35% of revenue (after affiliate payouts). She has the opportunity to earn more through on-site cam shows in which she earns the full $$ and the site owner would only get the common studio commission rate. For a model that wants more, she would have to do more than just supply pics and video -- OR she would have to be a potential star of Raven Riley caliber. |

I prefer to just pay them upfront at time of shoot, and be done with it. It's hard enough to get them to show up and shoot content, much less asking them to all of that chatting and so on. Some could do it, but they are rare. |

Thanks, everyone. I've always heard to pay the models between 30-50%, and we currently have a 50-50, but to hear her say that she's talked to a few girls who are getting 65%, I had to ask the GFY gallery.
She's a great girl, and her site just passed the one year mark and grossed about $140,000 the first year, but just can't see that it justifies 65% for her. Any other comments? |
These days, I would never ever partner with a model again. Not ever.
Come back later and bump this thread when it goes south. I'm telling you, don't do it man. You will thank me. |

dont be cheap and just pay a high shoot rate. You never want to be "business partners" with talent. They are talent for a reason. |
50/50
But like people have said, don't bother. Unless you get everything done before you start the site and she sits there collecting the money and you don't have to bother chasing her up for anything. |

You now have all of their "content" to resell, or re-license, for your pleasure. :pimp |
