Spreads were tricky this week. I did not see NE not covering against Dallas, for one. Pittsburgh-Jacksonville was another one, the -12 spread threw me there as well.

Ah well, I'm sure next week's spreads will be much easier on us. :winkwink:

But again, how bout them NINERS! I say bring on the Packers baby!

romeo22 10-18-2011 01:46 PM

congrats winner!no luck for me eather.

CDSmith 10-18-2011 05:58 PM

Week 7 picks are now active.

and a bump for the winner.

Caligari 10-18-2011 06:06 PM

congrats to the winner.
tampa bay is weird. one week they suck the next they beat the saints even though the saints just blew it by not scoring in the red zone when they had an easy shot.

49ers are another surprise team but i woudn't bet on them against the pack unless there was a sufficient spread.

That hot and cold thing can happen with any young hotshot team having success. But when the Bucs are hot, you have to admit they're damn hot.

I'm really looking forward to seeing just how far they take it this year.

For me only some of their success has come as a surprise. I've been watching them closely for many years now, and have noticed them loading their deck and gearing up for a winning season for several years now, and it looks as though the chemistry is there and it's finally here. So most of that comes as no surprise whatsoever, to me at least.

There'd be a spread, but I doubt at this point it would be as big as some might think (against the Pack)
Would be a great game though.

Caligari 10-18-2011 07:02 PM

damn i just realized SF does not play GB in regular season this year!
but they could very well meet in the playoffs.

of course GB has to play Detroit twice so those should be good.

CDSmith 10-18-2011 07:54 PM

SF does play the Giants, Ravens, and the Steelers this year, but no game against GB in reg season, no.

I'm looking forward to those 3 games though, especially Niners-Steelers, should be a good one.

Question about the weight of the picks.

Is pick weight of 1 suppose to be the most confident game or is it the higher pick weight

bdld 10-18-2011 09:53 PM

the higher weight is your most confident pick, as it yields the most amount of points.

adamneve 10-18-2011 10:32 PM

Congrats to the winners

bloggerz 10-19-2011 07:03 AM

No wondef why i havent been getting points lol... been putting lower weight on my confident games.. thanks bdld

ha ha, but that isn't saying much. Both teams have had similarly easy schedules. In-fact, both should have been 4-1 prior to playing each other, the Lions just got lucky with Romo throwing absolutely ridiculous interceptions to hand them the game.

The Bills didn't do what they've done all season to win, take the ball away! Plus those pass interferences just KILLED them.

Eagles have the capability to go all the way despite how bad their record looks right now. I like Andy Reid and I think it's bullshit they put the Eagles lack of discipline and mistakes on him.

The Bucs are a mediocre team, but year after year they continue to give the Saints a hard time. Just being division rivals they know how to stop Brees pretty damn effectively, but they will get stomped next week by da bears!

CDSmith 10-21-2011 06:35 AM

Week 7 picks might be a little lighter, if not easier, for some. There are a couple of tricky spreads but it's not like week 6 was.

Good luck all in week 7.

Nethorse - good points. I disagree that the Bucs are a mediocre team though. They are in fact a brash young squad with an often red-hot QB, and any team that takes them too lightly runs the risk of getting burned. I'm just happy my Niners didn't take them lightly and ended up completely stomping them down like the upstarts they are. But I still wouldn't describe them as mediocre. They'll finish better than 8-8. I see a 10 and 6 or better in their future.

And in today's NFL what exactly is an "easy schedule"?

I think week 7 is a bit trickier, here are my piks.

Bears over Bucs
Browns over Hawks, (this could go either way)
Broncos over Dolphins
Jets over Chargers, (also could go either way)
Falcons over Lions, (tough pick )
Panthers over Skins, (upset pick)
Texans over Titans, (another tough one)
Steelers over Cardinals
Raiders over Chiefs
Cowboys over Rams
Packers over Vikings
Saints over Colts
Ravens over Jaguars

I don't think the Bucs will make the playoffs, and even though they beat the Saints I don't think they're remotely on the same level. I think the Falcons will turn things around and cut their playoff chances.

I think the Bucs would be very lucky to finish 8-8 they got a TOUGH schedule in-front of them.

Bears, Saints, Texans, Packers, Titans and Panthers. I could see them losing their next 6 games.

Anyways, I actually like the 49ers especially since it appears they're playoff bound this season.
