What do you buy on ebay?

I noticed that manny people even buy toilet paper, etc on ebay.

candyflip 10-18-2011 12:39 PM

I wouldn't go that far, but for pretty much anything else Ebay and Amazon are always the first places I go to look.

Not much TBH.. I've bought a few computers related things. 1 thing is certain it's somewhat surprising what you can find and who is actually selling it.

I needed a battery for a laptop and it was something like $130 everywhere I looked but on Ebay I saw some brand new ones being sold for $40 so I decided to take the gamble.

Turns out the seller on e-bay was the actual Chinese manufacturer that was selling the exact same laptop battery that I would of paid $130 for.

Talk about a mark up..

i've haven't bought toilet paper but i've bought Energize AA batteries in bulk, sealed candy in bulk, AMP Energy drinks... a lot of retail stores, drop shippers, etc sell on ebay so buying tissue or housing supplies could be a lot cheaper than going to the store. last purchase was a desktop for $66 and a 500gb hd for $35

on auction sites i buy mostly some hardware and interesting stuff like old watch or something like that

I hated Ebay for a while there (too many assholes), but lately i've been liking it a bit more. The way it used to be.

I buy anything from PS3 games, to vintage boxed toys/figures...

ottopottomouse 10-18-2011 12:50 PM

Obscure stuff when there isn't really a choice where else to get it.

I buy used computer parts, you can sometimes find some really good deals on there. I remember getting my old Intel Xeon X3210 Quad CPU off there for $78 when they were retailing for around $160

bignasty 10-18-2011 12:59 PM

Been buying a lot of car parts off of there lately. Fixing to put an engine together and hae been getting some good deals on there for some parts.

martinsc 10-18-2011 01:28 PM

Rochard 10-18-2011 01:34 PM

Ebay and Amazon.

A few months ago a friend of mine mentioned a book he thought I would like, and I before were done chatting on ICQ I bought it on Ebay for like $2. And it was a great book.

My last purchase was a Halloween costume. Kid wanted something specific. Wife went to the local store, found it, $45. She called me, I found it on Ebay for $5. Done.

Anything I kind of want but could do with waiting on it for 4-5 days until it comes in the mail. Love opening my door to a package on the step also. It's like Christmas!

Bought a few guitars on Ebay. Strats, Dobro, and a Les Paul Custom.

ALOT of stained glass windows for the house, Antique Blue glass mirror top tables, and a shitload of Art Deco pieces.

Never a bad transaction on Ebay.

Amazon - lost my fucking book orders the 1 time I tried it there ... never again.

raymor 10-18-2011 09:01 PM

Anything on which the shipping doesn't cost more than the item. Maybe one transaction out of 25 goes bad. By saving maybe 70%, I figure I'm way ahead so when something isn't quite what I needed, oh well. I needed a few thousands dollars of parts for a car, including a transmission. l bought an entire matching car on ebay for something like $500, used the transmission and other small parts, then sold the rest for $300. I was able to quickly find a 1947 toy oven that exactly matched the one my mom had as a kid. You'd never find that in a store.

Aside from ebay, I took my online shopping to a new level today. The place I got my glasses two years ago orders them from a lab somewhere. They cost about $165 altogether. Today I ordered a replacement pair online for $40 - a 75% savings. I may have ordered from the same place the local store orders from.

I'm a tad nervous about the glasses, but I know that even if taking a shot like that failed half the time, I'd STILL save 50% in the long run.

You can sell anything on there if the product and shipping is right.

Me I haven't bought from there in years but I need to get a new sony laptop screen from there pretty soon.

Kenny B! 10-18-2011 09:18 PM

I've bought many pairs of sunglasses, I seem lose them once to twice a year. Any accessory's for cell phone, tablet or pc. Rims, tires and other car related toys.

My biggest purchases were a Caddy STS which was a piece of shit lemon that I immediately resold and 350z roadster. With the dollar at par the savings on picking up a car state side can be 25%+.

Any item you want that you don't mind waiting for can be bought there cheaper, just watch those shipping fee's.

96ukssob 10-18-2011 09:19 PM

only shit that I cant find by looking any other place.

my #1 is amazon. good return policy and shipping is quick
