Orgy.xxx sells for $25,000 + many other sales
 

The last Traffic auction had a bunch of .xxx names listed and here are a few sales:

Personals.xxx sold for $25,000
Orgy.xxx sold for $25,000
Local.xxx sold for $6,000
Juicy.xxx sold for $2,500
Chatroom.xxx sold for $10,000

And a few more sales listed. Names that were not sold were Movies.xxx, Singles.xxx..

I am not a fan of new tlds so these low numbers are what i expected or maybe i expected them to be even lower..

What do you guys think about these sales?

Yeah Juicy should sue them for a trademark infringement

Who are these people who have money to burn?

These were sold a few days back on the TRAFFIC live auction.. There is no info about the actual buyers, just sales figures as reported by a few domaining blogs, whose authors were present at this live auction.

Movies.xxx had a reserve of $500,000 :1orglaugh

Really, how is it that these .xxx domains are still in pre-reg at godaddy, but people are auctioning them off? what a scam, congrats to those who got to purchase them before everyone else. :(

Yes, the registry was auctioning off these names.. And before this Frank Schilling snapped up the best names for what was supposed to be an over $1,500,000 deal.. He secured the rights for that deal even before the .xxx extension was approved :1orglaugh So all the good names are long gone :)

Next year ICANN launches custom 1st domain names like .porn, .sex, .fuckyoumoron etc. So...
