What is the best anti-malware tool?

I've got one of them annoying fuckers that keeps changing my searches and trying to pop-up various searches for random shit etc.

Unique search systems, huge search system or some crap like that.

Anyway, I've tried free Ad-aware and that didn't find shit.

I normally have Avira on here and that keeps finding things, but when I quarantine or delete them i have to do a windows repair on the restart because it must be deleting something important.

Most important info: I got Malware Bytes (free) and that cleared some stuff, but still hasn't sorted the problem out. It is however blocking it from popping up these searches and trying to change my address bar to connect to the sites.

I noticed most of the time, the files it is blocking are csrss.exe and svchost.exe so it is probably masking itself somehow.

Anyone else had this piece of shit?

Free: MS Security Essentials
Pay: ???

Check to make sure there isn't a rouge proxy set somewhere. TDDKiller helped me once to clear a really bad piece of malware which infected the boot sector and seemed to be immune to everything else. Try it in safe mode and normal mode back to back if you haven't already.

Malware bytes probably is the best for finding malware. They're very helpful on their forums getting crap removed that even malware bytes can't sometimes.

When you get it sorted out... The best option is using a sandbox such as sandboxie. If a virus launches just reset your machine and it won't run anymore.

Will try MS out first and see what happens, if not I'll buy Malwarebytes full version, I read somewhere just now that the paid version is better? Anyway, I'll try all suggestions out!

The sandbox thing looks good, just downloaded it. Thanks cess :thumbsup

My Eset Nod32 anti-fucking-everything, nails anything that comes near me. And has done for years! :2 cents:

Spend the extra $$$ On a mac, and stop worrying... I did!

Its a pleasure to just click whatever the fuck I want, to see the result, and know it wont affect ME...

Super Anti Spyware is my choice and usally does an excellent job! Both before and after infection, well worth $30 but there is also a full 30 days free trial to test it out first.

No problem, just bought myself another copy. The price is half off for the rest of the day.
