I'm laptop shopping. Need advise, tips and pointers!
I'm shopping for a new Laptop right now as we speak. In your opinion, whats the best laptop specs i can get for 1,000$? Looks, performance everything. I want the best of the best my money can buy. From Processor, memory, sound you name it. I'm not really good when it comes to this shit. :)

For $1000 you should easily be able to get something with a second gen i7, nice big 17in screen, high end graphics, etc.
I just picked up an Asus G74sx laptop for $1300 at Best Buy and I LOVE it. I'm sure I could have found it a couple hundred cheaper online somewhere. http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Gaming_Powerhouse/G74SX/ |

The "laptop" computer is rapidly becoming pointless. Because they're all fragile pieces of shit. |

For $1000 you can get a core i7 laptop.... 15" or 17" screen with 1920 HD res...
8 gigs of ram 1 gig dedi video card 500+ gig HD $1000 will buy the top of the line for PC/Windows really. |
An SSD would be sweet and make it a monster.

A couple hundred over your budget, but this is about as good as it gets. Only thing missing is a full 1080p screen.

I have always hated using laptops... until I got a Macbook Pro... yes they are underpowered for the price.. but the build quality is unsurpassed.
I upgraded mine shortly after purchasing to 8GB of RAM and a SSD and it flys. It's a pleasure to use. |
