anybody here drink Gin?
anybody here drink Gin?
anybody recomend me a good one i want to try a good Gin i think ill try Bombay Sapphire |
you can't afford gin.
|
bombay sapphire is good, but there are various other gins which have stronger juniper taste which i prefer in coctkails and with tonic... like tanqueray and plymouth.
also try hendrick's, beefeater 24, bulldog, blackwood, mare, etc, just don't save money because you will get garbage gin :) |

Bombay, Gordons or Beefeater.
|
For dry martinis, Bombay Sapphire or Tanquery.
|
I love gin. Martin Millers is the best I've had :thumbsup
Bombay, Tanquery, Gordons and Beefeater pale in comparison. http://i.imgur.com/EDUbM.jpg |

Depends what kind of drink you are making with it. Hendricks is fantastic with tonic and a slice of cucumber. (odd, yes, but try it).
Sapphire is to gin like Patron is to tequila - it is not the best tasting, just better distributed and marketed as being "classier", and once you taste the real boutique brands you know that it is only so-so stuff that is basically made for the masses. Not saying Sapphire is bad, it is what got me into gin and is great for dirty martinis... just saying that gin is like whiskey and tequila and there is a great deal of craft to it. |
i came in just to tell you to stick with your bombay
you wont regret it |
Nope sorry only beer and whiskey!:)

What's your recommendation for a dry gin martini? |
yeah forgotten to add miller's gin, also a good one.
|
|
strength of juniper makes gin more or less dry so if you want dry martini try tanqueray, beefeater, plymouth...
basically you can't go wrong with any "london dry gin" since for that type and label to be approved, gin has to meet some quality factors. |

Gordons ghetto
|
I like Bombay Sapphire and Tanqueray.
|
I drink gin-tonic occasionally...
|
You need Gin to make a proper Martini. Cowards drink vodka.
Gin - the drink of whores. Embrace it. |

Crush up a bunch of ice with a hammer, then pour Bombay over it. Man, I miss her and used to love that stuff. |
i just went out and got a bottle of bombay, pimms and Smirnoff long island ice tea
the bombay is nice better than i expected |
nicely expanding thread, cheers :)
|
gin is female drink , real men drink scotch / whisky / rum on the rocks. ;)
|
I don't :pimp
|
proper gin has much stronger taste than rum and whisky (i drink all 3) so it's hardly a female drink.
