Halloween slowdown?

Hey all... any of you with mainstream sites that aren't pushing halloween products...

did you notice a slowdown over the weekend?

our sales fell off the chart and I'm assuming that they will pick up this friday (payday)

My theory is that with all the money people like to spend on halloween (and it being a first of the month holiday) that the slowdown is not surprising.

any feedback would be great

as would wise ass comments from GFYs recovering between sessions of masturbating

BIGTYMER 11-04-2011 08:55 AM

The weekend was slow both adult and non-adult for me. This week is much better.

JohnRingo 11-04-2011 09:07 AM

this week has killed me mainstream... hoping payday makes for a better weekend.

BNMedia 11-04-2011 09:38 AM

Over the last two weeks I've had the worst sales since we began 5 years ago!

BIGTYMER 11-04-2011 09:41 AM

Keep things fresh guys! New ideas, new sites, new sponsors, new traffic sources and new content.

Evil Chris 11-04-2011 10:17 AM

wow... so you don't think halloween spending has anything to do with a slowdown to non-halloween mainstream sales...

so i suppose bikini sales are great in december... jack ass

I had a good week and those are hard to come by since the economy tanked, but, then again, I'm kinda in the Halloween business.

Same here but sales went up again since November 2. October 13 - November 1 was my worst period ever since 2005!

Go figure after 7 years last 2 weeks were worst on record, even worse then summer slow down....

Would you be willing to post your cumulative form hits submission percentage for october

this year from june thru september we went from 4 months of 30% cumulative monthly join form submission percentages

june 2011 30%

july 2011 30%

Aug 2011 30%

sept 2011 30%

Oct 2011 10% form submissions

No way in hell those submissions just have a record drop in the month of october

traffic consistent, updates consistent, form hits consistent, form submissions....appear to be manipulated and tampered with in an effort to .........?????? Post your guesses

Remember if we are being squeezed with no sales....then how do the billing companies continue to prosper and grow while us the ones who pay their salaries continue to fold, close shop, and struggle....

please logically tell me how this is possible...remember use logic and please spare me the parasitic pseudo banker logic that permeates GFY

how do they seem to grow and grow while we shrink and close programs daily???

riddle me that Gfy geniuses

If you can't see by now the game is rigged, and there are other 3rd party fingers and 3rd party forces controlling the transaction approval and denial process that are not helping us the merchants or customers...

why is is so hard for everyone to see thru the mirage

sort of like banks remodeling, new signs, new furniture , while people are losing homes, cars, boats....but banks are empty and expanding....yeah

I know it is frustrating when your traffic is up and your sales are down. I had it several times. I had a huge drop in 2008 due to the financial crisis at that time but since: steady traffic + sales.

My 1st unbelievable sales drop was in the second half of May 2010: First half of May 2010: record sales. It was just amazing! It was like it was 2005! Second half of May 2010: sales cut off completely. I remember 85% of my sales were made during the first half of May 2010! There were several threads here at GFY with multiple webmasters who saw the same. That time was the first time (really) that I heard that CCBill was scrubbing and the scrubbing was the reason for the drop.

Since that time I had sometimes 2-3 days with bad sales but my 2nd unbelievable sales drop was during July 2010. Arround July 15th I noticed my first ever summer slowdown. This "summer slowdown" lasted till half September. That's 2 months! I am in bizz since 2005 and I never had any summer slow down. Most of my summer months were better or at least the same as any other months.

From half way September 2011 I saved my month a bit but it was not that great. Then the start of October 2011: again very good sales (not record sales but really good ones!) till arround the 12th. Then my 3rd unbelievable sales drop was on the 13th of October 2011. My ratios went to shit. Again here at GFY multiple webmasters who saw the same thing happen. October 13th till October 31st was my worst period ever. Lucky enough my sales are up again since November 1 (till today!) and the last week was a really good one on my end.

There must be a reason when sales drops but I cannot blame CCBill or any other processor as I think when I make money they take a % of the sale and when there're no sales they cannot take that! So when I make money, the processor makes money so they have no interest to take away sales.
Furthermore I have some sponsors using other processors (via NATS) and I see my ratios going up also.

So for me the reason for all of this is the economy and also surfers who're more carefull to use their credit cards (or have limited possibilities to use their creditcards). Untill I see the evidence I will never blame CCBill or any other processor!
