George Lucas has a strange sense of humour

Some of the changes he made to the original trilogy for the release on Blu-Ray. I thought these were fake at first when they appeared on YouTube. :helpme

What the fuck is that LOL ?!? :1orglaugh

Not sure what it sounds like exactly but it doesn't sound right.

Then the biggest fuck up of them all. I don't know whether to laugh or cry !! :uhoh

I don't understand the "noooo".

For one thing, its a movie cliche that's been run into the ground -- and the scene was cooler with Vader silently tossing the emperor into the chasm.

I'd like to strangle George Lucas by his fat fucking turkey neck.

The "Nooooo" didn't work at the end of the 3rd movie, so why he thought it was a good idea to add it to the 6th movie, i have no idea.

I actually think he likes pissing people off now... :2 cents:

helterskelter808 11-06-2011 12:51 PM

I'm not a particular fan of Star Wars movies personally - partly because there's way too much campy nonsense in them already, even without this - but I'm pretty sure the movie Star Wars fans rate best is The Empire Strikes Back; the one that Lucas had least to do with.

Fletch XXX 11-06-2011 12:56 PM

lucas is the worst of all with these redoing parts.

he has ruined what was an awesome cult classic and morphed it into something totally dumb.

Its because they think people are stupid and need to be expicitly told what vader is thinking

mineistaken 11-06-2011 02:30 PM

Si 11-06-2011 02:35 PM

I think in the original he didn't say it.

Personally I think if they were going to 'fix' anything in that scene it would be the terrible special effects.

mynameisjim 11-06-2011 02:47 PM

Maybe he's a genius. Because all these changes keep people talking about Star Wars decades after the movies were released as if they were new.

I'm not sure if that's his plan, but it has that effect. He was smart enough to do a couple things so it could be true. He is very liberal with allowing parodies and fair use requests which also keep Star Wars popular.

Basically it's the Disney approach, every few years you make a big hype about your old movies and for that generation of children, it becomes a part of their childhood, which keeps the franchise going for another generation. That's why Disney opens the "vault" and releases an old movie on DVD every few years. Because new parents rush out and buy it and those kids get hooked on the movies.

I still think the worst change Lucas made was done I think in the early 90's in the first film when Han shoots Greedo from under the table,

Instead he has Greedo shoot first and miss from 3 feet away

I mean WTF? Solo was supposed to be a "bad" guy, smuggler, pirate etc. shooting first would have been completely in character for him.

Indeed.

You would have to be the biggest fucking retard in the world to not allow parodies on your products.

desperate attempts to cash in by milking the dead cow which is his fan base only works for money making purposes, it doesn't make him a genius... It has completely killed the next generation of fans. There aren't going to be any.. you think all those people dressing up like the characters are going to jump at the chance to show their kids these 'new' versions of the films? no way... well maybe a few nut cases but not enough to keep it going.

starwars wont be fixed until he drops, as unfortunate as that is to say...

i still like the new cartoons though, way more edgy, i have a feeling he has zero to do with it...

michael.kickass 11-07-2011 07:07 AM

I think it's time for him to move on to new projects and stop re editing these movies, I think this is the third or fourth time he creates a "Star Wars Special Edition".

Enough already George!

DVTimes 11-07-2011 07:44 AM

the worst errer is when he walk over jaba the hut.

they have to bounce him over to make it fit.

2MuchMark 11-07-2011 09:32 AM

The worst change that Lucas has done to Star Wars in the Blu Ray Edition is to Darth's emotional state. For some reason he has made Darth more blue, more sad and less evil but this really subtle change.

And does anyone notice the slightly lighter mood of Darth Vader in this scene?

i don't know.. that's pretty small time to some of the other crap that he has done to these movies... like the scene before that? for some reason george thought han shooting first tarnished his character... most would argue the opposite! hehe

He's bringing them out in 3D now. Starting next year. Then another movie the next year and so on.

How many times can we pay to see the same movies? :helpme

The only thing George Lucas is a genius at is marketing. He hasn't created anything truly original since 1981. Except for Willow (and a few other projects that failed), everything since then has been a spin-off or a sequel to Star Wars or Indiana Jones. Great franchises that have been beaten to death and are now being violently milked for every cent he can squeeze out of them.

The only way George can maintain his status and fortune is by licensing his properties (to video games; and to Seth MacFarlane), and re-imagining and reselling old shit that was just fine decades ago.

He's a genius like Steve Jobs was: Fanboys will buy anything he puts his name on.

George Lucas at IMDB A sad - but insanely lucrative - resume.

That is pretty awful, but I blame it on the times. I remember watching that special when it came on and then they never showed it again because of how awful it was. JarJar was way more recent which makes it that much more unforgiveable.
