"Maintaining oil rigs is an expensive business"
lol yeah so are safety valves doh |
this is why in the uk i can see a big market for electric cars.
at the way things are going, although electric cars are far more expensive to buy, it may be worth it. one big trend in the uk is to fit solor pannels on houses. it used to be the big thing was double glazing, but now these firms all seem to be doing double glassing. I am suprised by how many houses I now see with double glazing pannels. |
Differences in fuel prices are mostly due to taxes. If you consider how insanely difficult it is to drill in the middle of oceans, make drills go sideways through 100s of feet of rock, transport it and refine it, etc... it's pretty amazing how low the price is. Cheaper than milk actually. the average profit is about 9 cents per gallon Meanwhile, governments, who do NOTHiNG it earn it, add a huge amount to the prices. With few exceptions, (e.g. The middle east), the biggest single cost in the proccess is taxes

The good news is that the collected tax money is wisely spent by governments, for stuff like government social programs, which have made people so productive and done wonders for the world economy!

however its vastly cheaper. that said, a few firms are putting up garages with solor pannals to charge the car, so in thgat respect its free and non poputing. on top of that electric cars have much fewer parts that can break. if you think about it, in some places in the usa you will have electric trams in the street that are years old, as well as the subways. they just run and run. by the way, electric cars are faster than fuel cars. in fact many electric cars have to have a device built into them, to slow them down a bit. otherwise you would shoot off too quick. |
in truth this is were ford could make a come back by going down the electric car way, and making them low cost.
i am not sure if they do or have plans for electric. most big car firms seem to have at least one electric car and 1 hybrid (electrick and fuel). but i have not seen ford say anything about electric. this has been fords problem, they always seem to be catching up. |
Us stupid fucking Americans bitch about what we pay for oil, when the truth is we pay a lot less than everyone else. Go figure.

How is it that a a brand new upstart is able to make a decent electric car when fucking GM can't? |
