Now i'm a complete idiot when it comes to maths but i thought this was simple. But then i saw people replying with 4 different answers. And ofcourse every person says he/she is right.

I know gfy is full of Einsteins so please tell me the right answer.

This one is simple.

40 + 40 x 0 + 1= "Your mom's box"

I would say that since there are no parenthesis the answer must be 1. But I have not taken a math class in many years, so the rules may have changed.

First you ALWAYS do multiplication FIRST! And any number multiplied but 0 always equals 0! So 40*0= 0
Then start from right to left. 40+0=40
Last number 40+1=41
Thus the answer is 41!

is actually

40 x 0 = 0

then

The orders of operation are missing from the expression so if you take it at face value, then 40 + 40 x 0 + 1 = 1. This is the correct answer when expressed in this way. Geeze.

If you express it as (40 + 40) x (0 + 1) then the answer is 80

If you express it as 40 + (40 x 0) + 1 then the answer is 41

etc.

Right. So, 40 + 40= 80
80x 0= 0
0+ 1= 1

But like I said, it has been 1969 since I took a math class.
