looks like Flash might be dying

looks like flash player might be coming to an end. Certain for mobile devices so wonder if they will just let it die all together...

yet so many people want flash stuff, hope it does fade away

NetHorse 11-09-2011 08:50 AM

Flash sucks. It's buggy, a total resource hog with countless security vulnerabilities.

It's that much more apparent on mobile phones and tablets because of limited resources compared to PCs.

Yeah I was reading that they were laying off 750 people because of Flash's future.

I can't say I'm surprised.

Flash really is horrible, glad to see it dying and getting replaced by something more modern

We keep Flash and html5 as streaming options, just in case, but it'd be nice to do away with it.

Nautilus 11-09-2011 10:42 AM

I wouldn't want to see flash go. I do not use it much aside from video streaming, and hate sites that overuse it, but it is nice to know it is there in case you need it. Html5 is not nearly as much feature rich.

I like flash, flash games and such. New tech is always coming up, and something will replace it at some point I'm sure. Reason I got a Droid over an Iphone was because of flash. With a droid, Most the time you don't need a mobile version of the site

I wonder how many of the 750 were programmers.

Programming may be a big money job when you get it but it's becoming the
biggest temporary job in history.
