How to host my own videos & NOT get them stolen?

I am planning on starting a membership site where I want the members to watch videos from my site rather than downloading. They will not be allowed to download any of the videos and will only be allowed to watch them on my site.

I have already looked on here and other places as well and cannot find a good solution. I saw that Amazon Simple Storage is a good one where videos are protected from being stolen but shoot it costs too much money.

Is there any way I can host my own videos if I get a decent dedi server myself? If so, how can I protect them so they won't be downloaded in any way to prevent them being spread onto tubes?

Lastly - anybody used Magic Members or DAP scripts and have any feedback? Thank you!

are you talking about streem content, because even it gets stolen

After reading some stuff, it looks like no matter what anything can get stolen even if it's protected or what not. So I am wondering what's the best way to host my videos so my members can watch them directly off of my site with least possibility of getting jacked?

slap a watermark dead center, video will probably still get stolen but at least you get free advertising if someone post it

Ain't shit you can do. I've seen cam recordings of porn videos. You best hope is adding a big ass roaming watermark that moves all over the video to get some traffic from the thieves.

streaming instead of downloading can help against noobs
watermarking can help if streamed video gets downloaded or recorded :)

Your late. Sorry.

It's impossible to expose something digitally in part or for only a time. That right there defeats all protection in that regard.

Yeah sounds like a tough one. Best of luck. At some point all of it ends up out there :/ Too bad a huuuuge watermark would ruin the effect of the film

The Hard truth is you can steal anything, and you need to expect your content to get leaked out there. Like mentioned you only real choice is a simple watermark to figure out who you are and where it came from.

You have to have a good dedicated server if you're going to host streaming videos, it might look good to you but how's it going to look when several members are all pushing video out of your box at the same time (get it "box" haha)

I take the position that if you're not allowing downloading you're only hurting yourself and it might not even be worth putting up a site now a days. Members expect to be able to download videos, it's hard enough even making money off a website unless you're doing something crazy and really unusual. Taking off your clothes and masturbating is boring and everyone does it. Adding a handicap like no downloading of videos could be a death sentence before you even get started.

Pray that SOPA becomes the law of the land.

RTMPE Secure Streaming protocol is what you want. A video bug that is large enough so that any video Camera capture of the video will have to expose it is there.

Basically making it hard for the thief and hackers to get it is the key since most are lazy and are just looking for easy targets.

It is only a matter of time before your content is hacked and posted on the pirate sites... Though there are many ways to foil that too (ask me how).

look at it this way, if people DONT wanna steal your shit then it means its crap. everytime i see my movies being boosted this consoles me

shure is, nothing is shure! if someone want to steal clips he can do it. there are a lot of special software on the (black)market for ripping streams or encoding. some japan producers use very strange codecs to prevent copying. but at last, good dvcams of today can film it from the screen and the quality is really good.
