DWB or other Bangkok folk...
How is flooding now? Will I be able to get from BKK to the main train station OK next week?
I need to get to Surat Thani, so was planning on getting overnight sleeper - assuming I can get there. If not I can get flight. please advise. Many thanks |
You have 0 to worry about :)

• The State Railway of Thailand cancelled all south-bound train services from Bangkok Friday 28th Oct 2011. SRT has arranged the bus from Hua Lamphong Station to Nakhon Pathom station and passenger can continue the train from there to Southern part.

I wonder if it would be easier to get cab from airport to Nakhon Pathom, rather than to Hua Lamphong, and then shuttle to Nakhon Pathom? |
No idea since I am not in that area just what I read.

Depending on where you are going you will find some things out of stock. I live 600km from Bangkok and Big C, Tesco, Makro and other shops don't have soft drinks in plastic bottles only cans and they are running out of that as well its just one example but water, rice and meat you can always find. Essentials here are no problem but other things can be hard to find. We have had little to no flooding where I live but the problem is the factories and the roads in the Bangkok area being flooded so its not possible to manufacture the products or ship them.

There are also overnight buses to Surat Thani, or directly to Koh Samui or Koh Phangan :pimp
