NinjaVideo didn't host anything btw, just linked to videos hosted on megaupload or whatever. that excuse hasn't worked since peekvid was shut down years ago.

It's pointless to really fight these things... If they have an entire site rip then of course, otherwise it's just a lot of work better spent on other things like mentioned above.

I know how to DMCA and it works but you have to keep at it and that gets old after the 3rd to 4th email and then they just keep reposting. :disgust

Me? Just some nobody who owns only one premium site with all in house produced exclusive content taking in some pretty nice first year numbers with that one site that is barely over one year old. Not 6 figures yet, but lets see in a couple more months because that is where the graph is pointing (Alexa rank around 160k today, it fell from rank 3 million AT LAUNCH to 300k in about 6 months and at around 200k has leveled off a bit into a slower rank drop).

Just some noob with my hand in a few new projects that are pretty attractive incentive wise in the financial department that involve a myriad of my talents including video editing, graphic design, marketing, and well, shooting content too.

Keep DMCAing those pages to their host (if they do not respond to DMCAs themselves). They'll have to close them, and it is harder to repost entirely then to simply change links within the already existing post. Most of them give up at this point and leave your content alone.

But if they do repost again and again keep sending DMCAs to their host and add (SECOND/THIRD etc) to the subject. It also wouldn't hurt to bitch within reason, to refer to the recent court precedences in the Netherlands (such as closing of news-service.com), and to mention that if they keep covering their client's outright criminal activity you'll hire a lawyer in their country and he'll sue them on your behalf for astronomical damages (which is an absolutely possible thing to do).

Most hosts will start getting nervous after systematic DMCA bombing for their one specific client from the same copyright holder, and they'll bark at their client to leave you alone. The more DMCAs they get from you, the more they expose themselves to a lawsuit, which most of them of course do not like in the least bit.

Yes unfortunately sending DMCAs to oron and filesonic wouldn't help much in many intances because they'd simply change links - those criminal filehosts never remove the master file (and of course never block new uploads of this file by hash), so pirates can simply generate new set of links to this file(s) and repost, and of course they'd never close repeat infringer's account because they're in here to sqeeze every little drop from piracy and then they'd simply dissapear into the sunset. But pirates' other partners are different, most of them are there for a long haul, they have much more to loose and it is possible to force compliance on them. You just have to be persistent. Constant, systematic pressure is what works, not an occasional DMCA or two.

And btw it is more than possible that if you raise enough hell with their host, and do it often enough (if this particular pirate would not leave you alone), that their host will close that blog altogether to avoid getting into legal trouble with you, or simple to get rid of you because they're tired and answering your e-mails consumes too much of their time.

As a small guy one of the more effective things to do is find the complete site rips on the site for download and then report the ones that are part of a big company that creates rage. This tends to work pretty well in some cases.
