I have cameras all around my house inside and outside and have auto updating screen shots on my phone home screen. Can move cameras left right and up and down and zoom via the web. Night vision too. Major piece of mind.

Price on DVRs went way down as well as basic cameras. Bet you can put a sweet system together for under $1,000 (No pant-tilt-zoom though) |

I also have a weather station which updates in real time its own website and a twitter feed (feed is on weather.com for Boca Raton). Now if the alarm goes off I can check the house and the outside before the police are there. Caught a guy opening up my mailbox looking for mail and sent his picture to the Postmaster general. Cameras always run and record but also have "motion" sensors so you can review and entire day of "movement" in minutes. Came in real handy when I lost a cell phone. I was able to track my steps and found it. I would have never been able to have found it otherwise (battery died). |
Stupid fucks, would be weird watching that if it was your house.

I have some IP cameras that stream live on the web, along with a DVR type computer that records the video. I also record video on one of my servers. I can watch the video feeds live on my android phone using a program called IP Cam Viewer. The cameras were around $150-200 each, and I have three of them. The outside night vision camera was around $250 I think. The DVR computer in the basement is a leftover that I put a 2TB hdd in. |
