Home invasion mystery solved... all fingers point at neighborhood rich kid
Re: my camera gear theft... I realized that someone had to be watching me take outdoor shots and see me leave the place, and the only conclusion is they were either hiding in the bush against the wall (not really a good vantage point but possible) OR they were above me looking down. There is only one home above me on this mountain, an even bigger villa owned by some rich locals. Look below and guess who got the vantage point on me:

AND also explains why the 4 dogs here didnt go nuts and dismember him. nice strategy of everyone around me trying to shift the blame to barrio girls, putas i play with, and the hood folks on the flatlands. All those folks have the guard dogs here up their ass in a second when they even breathe near the gate. I even got handymen etc up here saying 'nah it couldn't be them they're rich spanish people they dont steal' mmm hmmm.... one thing i learned in oakland is your neighbors didn't hear shit because they were the ones doing shit |

You cant do anything with camera security in the DR, hell half the time they take that too.
Can't do much with a rich kid either, parents will defend their kid 100% even if they know for a fact he is guilty. And they most certainly have more pull with the police than you do. I would say get a gun but then the thief would have stolen that too. Dominicans minimize theft by not owning anything too valuable, some of the upper class get insurance policies on their stuff and they never ever leave their house empty. There is always a trusted family member home or someone hired to watch the house. |
Shimmy, go down to Rocky's and ask for Marco. He used to own it but now he is retired but still lives there and is kind of a local expert on everything related to that town and can help you if there is anything that can be done. He also has connections in the police department. (or did last time I talked to him) You can be honest with him and he wont blow your cover. Tell him you were referred by MrMike.

Another idea is to bait them and get them to steal a device you have planted a tracking device in... I swear I saw a site selling a small basic gps device in the low low hundred dollar range but I cannot remember the name of the company .. and they supposedly would reimburse you for the devices and what ever was stolen if they didn't find your shit
And I think lojack makes a program for pcs ... which isn't even a gps system like lojac but it's a talk back to home with current ip info instead.. which is pretty funny .. but if it works, what the hell One time some genius stole a lawn mower trailer from me. I heard they were stealing everything around my neighborhood. So I left a weedeater in the bed of my truck hanging part way out the back, with some other misc useful looking shit. I waited in the bushes for them and that very next night BLAMN there they were at 1AM But there were five of them and I had a stupid small caliber pistol, so I was scared to fucking death, but when they heard me cock it they left. They did not run they just took their hands off of my shit and walked away casually. I am scared of everyone in the first place. Little old lady, 7' tall giant, everyone. Look, if you want to stay there get an inexpensive surveilliance system like the 4 camera mount with recorder i mentioned above.
Make sure you are noticed when you are setting up the system and make sure you place the cameras where they will be noticed. . |
