Jhessye Shockley missing child in Az

she was a beautiful child. R.I.P. :(

November 22, 2011 ? PHOENIX (AP) ? The teenage sister of a missing 5-year-old Arizona girl told police her mother instructed her to lie about the girl's disappearance, that her mother kept the girl in a closet, and that the girl had cuts and bruises before she was reported missing, according to a court document released Tuesday.

The document was released minutes after the girl's mother, Jerice Hunter, had her first court appearance, during which she proclaimed her innocence. Hunter was arrested Monday on a felony count of child abuse after police say they received new information in the case. They declined to say what that information was, but the court document detailed an interview they conducted with Hunter's 13-year-old daughter.

The teen told police that Hunter had instructed her to lie about her sister, Jhessye Shockley, being missing, the document said. She also said Jhessye had been abused and had black eyes before she disappeared.

Jhessye was last seen Oct. 11 after Hunter said she went out for an errand and left the girl in the care of three older siblings at their Glendale apartment. At a news conference Monday, Glendale Police Sgt. Brent Coombs said authorities do not expect to find Jhessye alive. He also said Hunter is the "No. 1 focus" in the investigation into the girl's disappearance.

Hunter has maintained her innocence and criticized the Glendale Police Department's investigation. "We feel that law enforcement is not active in finding Jhessye and that they're more active in persecuting me instead of finding out where she is," Hunter said in October.

State Child Protective Services removed Hunter's other children, including a newborn, from her apartment last month but declined to say why. Glendale police said they had no part in the decision to remove the children.

They have not announced her death as of yet, although it doesn't look promising finding her alive.

What gets me is, the mother was charged in California with abuse and I believe she did some time, the cousins have raised the child since she was 1 year old, so how did the mother get these kids back? Did CPS in AZ once again fuck up?

i think so on channel five the kids saw her in the closet said she looked like a zombie and she had patches of hair missing. The oldest said it smelled like death.

A great case for public execution.

There was some guy from the NAACP who said she had burn marks on her body and was missing two teeth at the last Family get together. When the party was over she did not want to go with her mom and wanted to stay with the cousins who had raised her. Apparently the cousins told her they would she her later and she responded with "no you won't"

I am pretty sure the mother is involved.

I just don't understand parents that harm their children, I hope they find this kid and get her to the hands of people who can actually care for her.
