Link buying still good?
Hello,
I wondered if link buying still get's you somewhere. I never done it before just because my budget is limited like 200$/month :-) But what do you guys pay attention to? What is a link worth? And what's your experience with link buying ? Let's discuss :-) |
just build links ,paid, non paid, spam or not spam, just build links.

Ok...
OK NOOB question coming up... DUCK !
When people say "BUILD" do you mean build another site, and then link to your other sites from there ? As I said NOOB QUESTION... sorry :helpme |
I think two of the main things to look for are:
#1 links coming from different IP's (100 links from free hosted blogspot sites on the same 1-3 ip's end up being mostly worthless especially when compared to 100 links from 70 different ip's). Not saying blogspot and similar links are actually worthless, but if you are trading, or paying top dollar your time or money could be better spent. and #2 the amount of backlinks on the site linking to you, link juice is distributed over all of the links on the page and you will get far more value/link juice from a site with 0 to 60 OBL than one with 150-300 (i.e.: link farms). Many SEO authorities say try to keep under 50 (or even 30), but with porn sites that is practically impossible to find.. but the lower the better. I just recently read that even though google does not pass any love to nofollow links it still includes them when divides the juice. In the past I thought it would not count nofollow's to affiliate links and other nofollow links towards the juice passed, but it does. A ton of people still focus on PR, but from everything I have read, PR is way over-rated and in many circumstances you could get more juice from a pr0 or p1 site than a pr5 in some cases. Some people only get PR5 links, which to google would probably be caught as unnatural to their algorithms. In the real world you cannot control who links to you so odds are there would be a wide variety or pr's and ip's if it were natural. (Also, I’ll state the obvious, make sure the sites you are getting links from are actually even listed in Google... lol ) Quote:
Most people focus on doing ABC trades or purchasing links so they can dedicate more time to the their main websites. For alot of people the time it would take to make and maintain 100+ sites on different ip's could be better spent working on their main sites adding content, etc. |
You are better off investing in what's needed to do it yourself non stop. That and read.

I started out with buying links but then found out I cold achieve the same results by making quality sites and doing ABCD trades.

Dont throw links at your website or blog, stacking is not the solution when done without looking at what your buying or trading.
A ranked pr1 website with less than 10 outgoing links is worth more than a same ranked pr3 with 50 outgoing links. I love the pr sluts out there, I have a few pr4's full of links and they still want to get their sites listed. Look for age, check to see if it has ever been a different niche or even once a mainstream site, in that case let it go. If the domain is old but there has been a big gap on inactivity then the link is worth less. Look out for rss feeds and copied content, they wont do much for you either. Different IP's no doubt, but most of all different hosts, dont stockpile links from someone that tells you they have 150 ip's but they are on the same class c, panda is much smarter than that. Adding more than 13-15 links per day can be a huge risk for a google ban if the domain is new or has yet to be serped. Trading blog "post" links has been very effective since the panda showed its face, but here also don't post on your own sites that have share the same google-anal duh! Spread your site out, link at least 20% of the time to a category page of your site/blog. Nofollow all sponsor links, wherever they can be found. Don't host all the images and always rename them with different but same niche keys. These are things we know for sure from experimenting on our crash test sites. As I'm at it, let me spam this thread saying that we have an opening for another 2 sites if anyone is interested in good SEO at an affordable price drop us a line. |
