Alertpay accused of fielding payments for child porn
MONTREAL - A Montreal company has been providing online payment services for sites that sell dangerous drugs over the Internet and has been accused of doing the same for a site that distributes child pornography, the Montreal Gazette has learned.
AlertPay is an online payment service provider, similar to PayPal, that allows people to pay for goods and services on the web. It primarily uses credit cards to enable these purchases. However, since the beginning of October, AlertPay, which counts 7.7 million members worldwide, has not been able to provide its members Visa and MasterCard services because one of the company's banks, Norway-based SEB Group, suspended AlertPay's account. The letter claimed a site called nn-usenet.com made child pornographic content available and payment for the content was received through an AlertPay account via Ceptum Ltd. ``On this site, images are made available to the user which show sexual acts of children between 11 and 14 years of age,'' the letter states. http://www.canada.com/business/Montr...554/story.html |
article is calling the usenet newsgroup's a site? guess they provide an interface or something and charge
|
wow ....
Are they going to shut down all payment processor for newsserver ... I use Giganews and they have suspicious groups. They use all credit cards including Paypal ... My own ISP carries those same groups. |
So that's why they lost V&MC.
|
In that case I expect some pay tubes will also be losing their processing soon.
Some of the stuff out there is disturbing. |
There's a lot of cp on filelockers too. And all filelockers accept PayPal. So PayPal supports cp.
|
I smell another epass situation. Once banks starts turning on services like this, it's downhill from there. Why would they use a Norwegian bank anyways? Although it does seem like bullshit to blame the payment processor for this, considering it's access to usenet servers.

SEB Group is Swedish, not Norwegian.
