Who went shopping?

On the news they showed Best Buy and people were out there on Wednesday night for a 42" TV for $199 good buy but not worth waiting for days outside.

AnimeFevers 11-25-2011 08:53 AM

candyflip 11-25-2011 08:54 AM

In this economy, you could've hired someone to stay in line for you for 50 bucks - still a good deal for a 42'' tv

Gotta do what you gotta do for a 42 incher.

zagoren 11-25-2011 09:16 AM

it's not even such a good deal, and the brand model was probably some piece of shit knock-off

Never made it out Im entirely not into crowds ... waiting to see what cyber monday has to offer!

AJHall 11-25-2011 11:49 PM

I hit the mall earlier. It was nuts, especially the crazies in the parking lot! There were tons of good deals. Next year I'll go at midnight and really take advantage.

unixmaid 11-25-2011 11:55 PM

Just bought groceries, looking for deals on food people didn't buy for thanksgiving.

I think people are kind of insane sometimes.. my pappy used to say, "you can always buy, but you can't always sell".

There's always some deal some place to be had, if you're a buyer. Foolish to get caught up in all this nonsense.

Babaganoosh 11-25-2011 11:57 PM

Went grocery shopping today. Grocery stores were fucking dead. It was great.

Mr Pheer 11-26-2011 12:02 AM

I did some shopping on newegg.com, bestbuy.com, and horizonhobby.com

Had to go to Lowe's and Office Depot but I waited until 5:30pm when all of that black friday madness was mostly over.

Chosen 11-26-2011 12:57 AM

Not me...

I went shopping yesterday to get all of Eva's Xmas presents. I was amazed how many shops, good ones with good stuff, had sales on. 4 weeks before Xmas and they're having sales. :Oh crap

But bought one beautiful knitted dress and was not sure to get the light grey of the black. Settled for light grey. Then as I was tapping in my pin, I saw it was half price. Eva now has 1 in l. Grey and 1 in black. :1orglaugh

Along with a load of other stuff. :thumbsup

I bought myself a Glock 10mm and my wife a new Deuter backpack plus a gorgeous Ruger .22 lr stainless hunting pistol. Her stocking stuffers will include lots of high velocity ammo, chocolate, and some thongs. We enjoy the simple things in life:2 cents: For our 2yr old munchkin I bought a backpack, raincoat, and pair of Bogs boots.

We already have a 4 slice waffle maker; didn't need Walmart's shitty 2 slice one. :2 cents:

We did go to Walmart though to grab some 360 games for my son. That was fucking nuts. This video from a Texas Walmart was about the same thing I experienced in Mechanicsburg, PA, minus the fat cow falling over and getting stepped on. The display did get trashed, and I wasn't even smashed that much between people in the last mosh pit I was in. At my Walmart, people were getting shoved so much that the mobs pushed backward into the bread stands and knocked them over. :1orglaugh

The main game we braved that mess for was CoD: Black Ops for $28. We got it, but later Friday we stopped in a Kmart, with no lines and they had it for $29. Could've saved myself the trampling for an extra dollar.

On a side note, we also hit GameStop at midnight....lined up outside around 10:45pm. Around 11:15 an employee came out, asked us which of the sale items we wanted, made a note of it and gave us a ticket with a number on it. They pulled the shit ahead of time, and when they opened, they only let about 15 people in at a time. We were free to browse other stuff, and when we wanted to check out, all the sale items were already at the register for us. After we paid and left, they let the next group of people in. It's was calm, organized, and actually a relaxing shopping experience. That's how a store should handle Black Friday.

baddog 11-27-2011 01:34 PM

We walked to the bank and stopped by Starbucks on the way home.

VikingMan 11-27-2011 01:34 PM

I would never set foot in any of those black friday mobbed stores unless I was wearing a full hazmat suit. Think of all the viruses those animals are carrying:2 cents:
