Vets...if you have not gotten a VA loan before

...now is the time to do so. Thirty year mortgage is below 4%.

bignasty 11-26-2011 10:42 AM

Yeah, definitely the time to borrow if you need to. My neighbor just bought a house, got 3.75% on his mortgage.

Nikki_Licks 11-26-2011 11:58 AM

Never used mine and probably never will, unless they want to finance a patented mining claim ;)

raymor 11-26-2011 03:42 PM

Vets - thank you for volunteering to protect us. My wife and I slept peacefully last night only because better men than I stand ready to do violence on our behalf if required.

wow, nice to finally hear Americans paying for their mortgages. I just got 3% here in Canada.... mind you I had more then 25% equity. and that was the BAD rate, if my credit was better I could have got 2.5%

Most Americans have always paid their mortgages and never filed bankrupsy. The number of defaults is not even close to the majority.

VA loans are only available to Veterans, which only make up 7% of the US population.

The 30 year fixed @ 3.98 applies to everyone not just veterans.
You can even go 3.30 for 15 years.

This aint nothing exclusive to vets.

The VA loan applies to Vets exclusively...and it is easier to obtain for Vets.

Yeah the VA loan is exclusive to vets but if you're not a veteran civilians can still get the 3.98/3.30 rate.

No it's not easier to obtain if you're a vet. If a veteran's credit profile is rated poor or fair they aint getting it.

Vets may very well qualify for a VA loan where they would not qualify otherwise.

buzzard 11-27-2011 11:46 AM

lol vets are used by the global banks more than anyone. I advise against giving up more of your sovereignty for 'Loans' to the banks. Don't they already own you enough? They do.
Extra special if you're a vet lol kiss my ass.

Sorry but you are incorrect. The loan is easier to get, but there are also limitations on what type of home you can finance with it. I've had mortgages on three different homes and still havent used my VA loan.

Solace 11-27-2011 05:07 PM

Nice Find there brethren in Arms!

Impossible for a Cannon Crewmember to earn a CIB, but where you would wear yours, I wear my Air Assault wings. I have a pair of Expeditionary medals and I earned my ARCOM with V-device in Somalia.

Now, you were saying something?

Vendzilla 11-28-2011 05:53 PM

VA loans are more than just a good rate, they are loans guaranteed by the government, makes them easy to get.

Actually, the Setraline keeps me very leveled out these days. Maybe you should try some. I managed my PTSD pretty well before but things are much more mellow now.

The 'outfit' was Echo Battery, 7th Field Artillery out of Ft Drum. You know, the 10th Mountain Division? After 4 years of that I reclassed to an Aviation MOS and earned another set of wings.

Solace 11-28-2011 09:05 PM

And all that explains the shades

My unit was assigned to the outside perimeter under Steele. Should have been under McKnight but shit got switched up.
Skinny's were everywhere. 2nd award CIB but a lot of good men lost.
Nothing more to say about that.

theking, can you post a link to a official site for this? Would be interesting to see what you guys do in the USA compared to my country. VA loans sounds great, maybe something for my government to consider. You say the interest is 3.98%. What is the normal interest rate?

Thanks!

Update: Found some on va.gov
