Embedded videos from Xvideos illegal?

So, a majority of my content is embedded from xvideos(dot)com. I've seen people talking about content from these sites being illegal... Is it actually illegal to use their content or what? How do so many sites continue to use their videos?

Caveat: I'm not a lawyer...

But I don't see how it could be illegal, an embed is just another link, if they make it available then you can link to it. (I know there are currently laws underway to make this sort of thing "potentially illegal", I'm hoping it won't pass, but the entertainment lobby wants it, so, we're probably doomed.)

You may want to think twice about it though, some day you might discover they're inspecting the Referrer header and sending out alternate versions to people who embed, much like you see with images.

For streams, soundexchange had some unusual ideas, I used to operate an internet radio stream, in that case, it was illegal for ME to embed my own stream on my own web page. (I had to use my licensing provider) but I've never heard of anyone getting into trouble for embedding or linking to someone ELSES internet radio stream. (yea, weird huh?)

I used to stop just short of encouraging people to do that, I wanted my radio stream to be everywhere it could be, and I figured I couldn't be expected to control what other people were doing, provided I didn't flat out ask people to do it.

People used to do this all the time in "second life" and "radiotuna", not once did I hear of someone getting in trouble for it. Youtube has a policy where, if you embed certain content, you're required to go to their site. This tells me that if anyone would end up in hot water, it'd be the provider of the video/stream. (which frankly, makes no sense, but.. oh well)

I'd imagine streaming videos are the same?

Illegal.
