Hahaha Ebuyer Fiasco - This is how to DDOS your own site
 

Ebuyer are runing a £1 Cyber Monday cleareance and I guess they did not bolster their servers to take on so much traffic which resulted in 100s of buyers not being able to access their website and turning against Ebuyer on Facebook and Twitter. Nice way to run a sale and DDOS your own sites while pissing of your customers lol

tons of sites hvae gone down today due to the sales they are running
including name cheap

Kinda makes me smile that the big tube sites can have thousands of users viewing vids at the same time yet these pretty big companys cant keep servers up for 1 day to cope with the traffic Way to piss off your customers lol

Yeah, I fiddled with namecheap all morning long, clearly wasn't worth the savings of $40 all things considered. But when I was in the middle of it, I just kept going ad trying to make it work while their webpage kept crashing on me.

Just saw the ebuyer bargains - What a load of crap....

to be fair - tube sites are not getting 100k visitors attempting to hit the site all at the exact same time doing the exact same thing.

large tube sites may have 100k users on it at a time but they are spaced out a little bit and not hitting it at the same time

Ebuyer were selling 19 and 20 inch LCD monitors for £1 plus postage I did try and get on the site but did not have a hope in hell and gave up lol

Yeah but its still very stupid to assume that their servers wont get hit with a crap load of buyers all at the same time when pulling off sales like this. They should have at least had other servers on standby to cope with this. Its turned into a PR disaster instead of being a happy customer day lol. Search google for "ebuyer fiasco" and look at the search returns allready just from today
