If you think ICM's scheme is blackmail towards brand owners, wait until ICANN gets to sell gTLD's and try to force brands to pay hundreds of thousands to protect their brand.

I don't see the problem in principle -- ICANN can sell the gTLD .soda but not .coke nor .pepsi to other than the registered trademark owners.
