Herman Cain. It's official, he's toast!

LA Times-Herman Cain drops out.
:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

What a Douchebag.

L-Pink 12-03-2011 04:57 PM

Damn, I didn't see that coming. What do I do with all the "Cain for Prez" t-shirts I ordered?

johnnyloadproductions 12-03-2011 05:18 PM

Well, this helped surge sales of his books at least. Do you think book sales or something else was the ulterior motive?

Rochard 12-03-2011 05:36 PM

As if we couldn't see this coming.

This is pretty simple. If you need to ask yourself if you have any skeletons in the closet - you can't run. It's not even an option because it WILL come out.

Idiots.

Robbie 12-03-2011 06:22 PM

I think it'd be great if just ONCE a politician would enter the race and just say: "Yeah, I've had sex with a lot of different women. And yes, I've smoked pot a few times. And yes, I've been drunk a few times in my life too. But here are my ideas and what I want to do for the country"

I know that the pundits and media would proclaim that would never work...but I believe that a lot of middle class voters would empathize with that and be able to move past it and see what a person's actual ideas for the country are.

When you think about it, it is pretty damn dumb that we have all been fixated on his womanizing and horn dogging when the country is in deep shit economically, fighting "non-wars" all over the world, killing people as we speak with drones, and cutting backdoor deals with pharmaceutical companies, banks, etc.

If nothing else, it definitely proves that the media can play us all like a fiddle whenever they choose to. :(

I never thought that Clinton getting some pussy (constantly) affected his ability to be president (just like it didn't with JFK and probably almost every guy that's ever held the office that we never found out about their sex life).

I thought it was 100% dead ass wrong for the Republicans to impeach Clinton for doing what any guy with half a brain would do when asked if they cheated on their wife (lie like a motherfucker).

Same with Cain now. He should have risen or fallen on his ideas for the country. Not for his sex life. And not even for his lack of some kind of encyclopedic 24/7 knowledge of foreign policy either.

I've always thought that foreign policy is something a new president is brought up to speed on in his first few days in office when he is given top secret briefings and then begin to work within that framework.

I was more interested (and I think most Americans might be as well) in how to get the govt. to stop spending so much money and also some policies to get our economy back from the dead.

I could care less if a guy is a "grab ass" with the women or not.

I just think it would be kinda cool to have a politician tell the TRUTH and admit before anybody "discovers" anything about them. Just take the bullets out of the gun ahead of time.

If a guy doesnt give a fuck what he does to the person closest to him what makes you think he's going to give a fuck about you or do whats right for the country?

I'm not sure one thing has anything to do with the other. Most men HAVE cheated on their significant other. And...women cheat too.

It's the nature of people. And unless it was a "revenge fuck", nobody ever did it to hurt their wife.

We shouldn't even argue this...here's the facts I see: I think Clinton was a really good president. I think JFK was a really good president. I think Abraham Lincoln was a great president (he supposedly slept every night with an officer in the military instead of his crazy wife)

I don't see why things a man might have done for recreation...like chasing tail, having a few drinks, etc. should impact whether or not they have the ideas and leadership to do a great job as President. I think most people know when the time comes to get serious and quit fucking around (well, okay...maybe Clinton didn't lol)

And no, I'm not saying I think Cain would have been a great president. That's something that can't really be measured until a man takes the office.

For instance...I THOUGHT Obama was gonna be something really, really special. And I'm sorely disappointed.

I thought Reagan was gonna go down in history as one of the worst president's of all times. I found it a joke that we elected an actor as president (I was 19 years old when he first took office).

You just can't judge it that easily. If we could, then Jimmy Carter should have been one of the greatest presidents of all time.

For that matter, neither you or I know how many of the Presidents throughout history were or were not faithful to their wives.

FDR was not only crippled, but it looks like his wife Eleanor just may have been a lesbian and was definitely not being faithful or even sharing a bed. Didn't stop him from being a great president.

And who knows what past presidents did or did not do. We didn't always fret about this particular non-issue like we do today. If we had...JFK would have never been elected.

And Clinton had to put a "damage control" team in place to stop money hungry women he'd slept with from ruining his campaign as well.

I agree with most of what you're saying but there is a huge difference between having a few one nighters compared to keeping a mistress for almost a decade and a half and blaming everyone under the sun for it except yourself while claiming to be a high and mighty bible loving christian. Its almost as bad as bringing divorce papers to your wife while she's in the hospital dying of cancer like the other hypocritical degenerate named Newt.

I don't think Gingrich is that kind of religious insane Republican (though I'm sure he'll pay lip service to them to get votes). Pretty sure he is a "real" Republican (or at least what I grew up in the 60's & 70's definition of what a Republican is).

I'd much rather have Gingrich (who is smart and has good ideas) than bat-shit crazy Rick Santorum. That guy is just NUTS. I listened to an interview with him the other day and every sentence included the words "and I prayed about it".

Didn't matter if it was his decision to run for President, grab a hamburger for lunch, or drive across town...he "prayed" about every goddamn thing! :1orglaugh

Newt is a career politician and is bought and paid for by corporations.

I think a he is a little smarter and smiling version of George Bush.

All the while Gingrich was leading the charge to impeach Clinton, Newt was having an affair himself with a much younger Congressional staffer, while engaging in unethical conduct that ultimately cost him his position as Speaker of the House of Representatives:

Quote:

In the mid-1990s, Gingrich began an affair with House of Representatives staffer Callista Bisek, who is 23 years his junior. They continued their affair during the Lewinsky scandal, when Gingrich became a leader of the investigation of President Clinton for perjury and obstruction of justice in connection with his alleged affairs.
Quote:

The House voted overwhelmingly yesterday to reprimand House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) and order him to pay an unprecedented $300,000 penalty, the first time in the House's 208-year history it has disciplined a speaker for ethical wrongdoing.

Newt Gingrich is the ultimate political chameleon, and a symbol of much of what is wrong in US politics. :disgust

That's got to be as low as any one man can sink. It really doesn't get any worse than that.

Robbie is right though when he points out that lunatics like Santorum or Bachmann would do far worse for the country as a whole however.

And then you have the quintessential flip flop artist Mitt Romney :1orglaugh

With opponents like this, Obama's gotta feel like the luckiest mediocre President this country has ever had.

DWB 12-04-2011 02:26 AM

Looks like they drained the Cain.

No one really thought they would let another black man in office did they?

PornMD 12-04-2011 02:30 AM

Yea to me, Newt being a frontrunner is basically the Republican Party's way of saying "yep, we've got nothing, and you supporters all have a short memory".

It's looking more and more like Obama's getting a 2nd term. Probably the only one who could stop him is Ron Paul if he won the nomination, but it's really not looking like that'll happen.

I know that the pundits and media would proclaim that would never work...but I believe that a lot of middle class voters would empathize with that and be able to move past it and see what a person's actual ideas for the country are.
