Godaddy so cheap?
Does Godaddy offer adult hosting? I heard a bud of mine say he was on grid servers unlimted bw and unlimited gigs for 80 bux a year? Maybe I should move all my projects over there?
|
Good idea, put all your eggs in a too good to be true basket.
|
you got a contact over there? I am very interested in signing up for the unlimited package.
I wanted to point out I need around 140 Terabyte of storage and 25000 Mbit/s for starters but since everything is unlimited I guess they don't need to know that right? |
lol, exactly what im saying... how do they do it? does anyone know even if they allow adult hosting?
|
Read the microscopic print.
|
I would not use their hosting. No specific reason but they are better for domains.
|
I brought the grid hosting a while back for a none adult website and it was terrible nothing worked and it was slow. The funny thing I called tech support about the issue and they asked me why did I even buy the grid hosting instead of a regular shared hosting package maybe its better now all I know it was shit when I brought it.

no thx.i like name.com
for hosting ,HOSTGATOR is # 1 |
Go Daddy is good for simple shared hosting but if you need strong hosting or actually make money from your shit Liquid Web kicks ass.
|
That's no such thing as unlimited. The typical "unlimited" plan doesn't directly limit BANDWIDTH, instead they just limit you to no more than two visitors at a time.
Go down to your local mechanic shop and see how many dollar store chinese tools the pros use. Check out a restaurant kitchen and see if you find a $15 mixer being used for a business. Ask a professional photographer to use a Flip camera from Walmart and see whether they laugh or slap you. Why in the world would you want your business dependent on the cheapest piece of crap you can find? |
Godaddy will host adult stuff on paid hosting, not on the free hsoting included when you buy a domain. As long as you pay, you're ok.
But you should be with a host who is more openly ok with adult, for example Amerinoc.com, they have never let me down and there's no real price difference to talk of. Pick quality over marketing! |

I kept calling them "CreditCardGator", they didn't appreciate that at all :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |
Godaddy absolutely will host legal adult stuff on paid hosting but they're terrible. Their customer service is basically just a list a form letters they send you.

Yeah they have have some other problems too, which is unfortunate because they are phyically nearby so I'd like to have a rack in their DC, if only they had a DC. Hostgator is perfect for a local dry cleaner's or book store's web site. For a serious online business you're better off with some other choices. |
I would use HostGator for any mainstream or low traffic adult site without hesitating. They are very cheap and service is great, their live support often helped me out in the middle of the US night. They also have a great policy on copyrights, when I moved my member section to their server they required me to proof that I was the copyright holder of all materials. I really appreciated that. But like I said, they're not suitable for high traffic sites and they way they dealt with traffic overage was nasty.

Good - Cheap: Pick Two
My hosting is crazy expensive, but it's not cheap - because I host where Starbucks, Volkswagen, etc host. |
