Shap...congrats, but how the hell did you get into the "HOF Internet Founders Branch"?

PK and The Hun are the only 2 people I know who were in this game online before Al and I were (at any big level that is), I think they were going a few months before AL4A & Ampland.
So yeah, I can see PK and The Hun as early "founders" types.
But you came along much later.
Not saying you didn't kick a lot of ass. But I wouldn't consider you to be an "internet founder" type.

But what the heck...congrats! :)

EDIT: My post isn't meant to attack Shap by the way. He definitely is overdue for some recognition from the AVN Awards. I was just thinking that maybe they need some different categories for guys like Shap.

Maybe Brian Muir wasn't returning their calls or something.

We were selling back in the days of BBS like TheGeneral, Giffy Girls, etc. Had thousands of members before doing our deal with that c_mp_ny founded by one of the true OG big dick slingers. I remember you being around, WildRose of course, a few others come to mind...

Maybe just a general "Online Porn Hall Of Fame" award would be something they could use for a lot of guys who had tons of success but weren't necessarily "internet founders"?

Heck, I was just looking at the nominees for all the awards and I swear to God that a lot of those movies and "stars" wouldn't be seen by more than a thousand people if the DVD's weren't being ripped and pirated on Pornhub. lol

I've felt that the Awards shows are living in the past in that Porn Valley bubble of old video studios. More people see porn online in a day than watch all the porn DVD's put together in a year.

The fan base has definitely moved away from that.

It is good to see Kelly Madison getting some recognition. She and Ryan have really worked hard and built a big brand.

I'd bet that a girl like her could walk into a casino here in Vegas along with EVERY girl in the "Best Actress" category and nobody would recognize any of the girls EXCEPT Kelly Madison.

I just can't figure out the mindset behind the awards...well, of course I can. It's a bit of a reward to faithful advertisers of course. And those companies in porn valley are the ones that butter the bread for AVN. So I don't blame them.

I just think that unless the awards shows want to become totally irrelevant, they need to realize that millions of people are watching porn online and the internet girls are some of the biggest adult stars in the world in 2011 and add some categories to bring them up to speed.

The best part about being nominated in the best non-sex performance category is I got to do a couple of russian girls the night before in the rainbow bar and still work the next day.

No offense taken :) I started in 1997. PK was definitely before me she was my inspiration. If it weren't for her web counter I may not have ever got into the business.

Hopefully one day AVN will have some categories for Adult Portal or non B2B sites too. AVN is moving more and more towards consumers that it would only make sense :)
