How many people here, not from a big company, make a newsletter?
 

I've got a group of people that I've been hanging out with online for years and a fairly good sized list, would making a newsletter with affiliate links be worth my while?

What email system should I use? Would I be better with just going the free route with PHP mail or getting a campaign with a system that can get me more thorough feedback?

i cant afford to make a newsletter... :(

I wish someone would respond that would like to discuss their experience with it. Not stating something like this. :Oh crap:disgust

We were thinking of creating a newsletter years ago. But we realized what other function would a newsletter have that a blog or other message boards wouldn't do? Unless you have news that no other place will have, or you offer specialized updates that people would need, then go for it. Otherwise, I see it as a tedious exercise.

i do newsletters - they work
