probably good in 1980

Probably would have been a hit in 1980, but I am not aware of many cards that were produced that early. The mid to late 1990s were the big boom and now things are starting to move along again. Though there are not that many publishers now as there was then. Playboy & Juicy Honey seem to be the monsters of the madness for new releases right now as well as a few other emerging companies.

I am still kind of surprised that more of the big players now don't produce collectibles of this sort. We get inquiries all the time for cards of more modern stars, but very few major players seem to get it. Seems like it would be a great way to attract/keep members coming back to your sites.

I am not aware of almost any Adult Cards that are pre 1990's.

I also don't think anyone at all includes gum anymore, the cards are way to expensive and might get damaged by the gum.

They were from the Doll House Strip club.

I am fairly sure I know the sets you are talking about, they are from the early '90s, around 1993 I think. There were 3 full sets put out, and several 'chase' sets, including this Pure Platinum set, real nice foil borders on these...

As with most of those earlier sets, they are becoming hard to find anymore.

Did your company produce any of these or are they put out by studios or independent card companies?

Sold most of these cards over the years in my newsstands and ended up dumping a lot of them in the dumpster because I couldn't give them away.

Man :Oh crap, that would be like comparing it to your mother or grandma throwing out all those old comic books. I would imagine that if I tried to put cards at the local 7-11 or walmart it would not do as well, but the world is a MUCH larger place than the local newsstand now.

That was the owner of Benchwarmer and that's what I've been trying to tell you guys, this market is just waiting for one of you big players to take charge. This really is an untapped adult niche of which there are few major players filling the desires and demands of the market.

This is a card from one of the more interesting sets that Hustler put out along the way, they are actually 3-D ultra-embossed so that you can 'Feel' every curve on the girls body, believe it or not. You really have to hold these in your hand to experience it!

When I said "newsstand", I should have said 5,000+ sq ft retail facility with magazines, VHS, adult toys, CD-Roms, lingerie and much, much more. I probably still have some in my warehouse.

:thumbsup That is definately NOT what I would have visualized as a 'newsstand', that sounds like a newsMall!. I spent 25 years in NYC, my idea of a newsstand was a 8x10 80 sq ft box on the corner of 42nd & Broadway packed full of papers, mags, cigs and other related stuff. Still I think in order to really attract collectors in a physical retail environment you would have to have a pretty large area to exhibit a wide variety of cards and product to keep them coming back. But I honestly don't know how things would do on the physical location retail side, I know that the guys at AdultTradingCardCompany.com are trying to move their products into retail stores and setups. Strange though as we get a bunch of folks always looking for their cards online. Go figure. It would be interesting to know if you ever break those out and put them in your shop, how they do with that market. If they do well, you might want to consider my offer on selling this site with all it's inventory :winkwink: It would be a bargain for you.

We originally thought that Sexy, Naughty and Porno especially would make great individual brands for new lines of cards. Anyway, any additional questions feel free to ask :thumbsup

In the meantime, here's a card from Hot Shots of Brandy Ledford, some of you might know her more recently from the recent TV series Stargate and Andromeda. She was one of Hot Shots queens for a loooong time...

Crazy to see all these Hot Shots trading cards.. I used to race BMX bikes and Hot Shots was a sponsor of mine.. It was pretty awesome being 13 and getting boxes of those cards.. lol the parents at the track didnt seem to thrilled to have a Hot Shots Team there at the track when we showed up.. but we won a lot of races..

I know at one point they were trying to branch out some and produce some non-sport cards, but I think the closest they came were a couple of hot rod promos and some limited edition sets. Here's a couple of the promos they released...
