Costs more to heat the pool than the house.

the house is electric and runs about 1k +/- per month... the last gas bill was $600 :(

Why not just hop in the hot tub? I'm sure that's a hell of a lot cheaper to heat!

you can get a solar gadget just for pool use. a few K for the entire system paid itself in less than 6 months.
its not the ol' fashion one heating up the water, this one use the solar panel to make electric power which is used to heat up the pool.
also i hear the insulating blankets also work wonders to keep the energy in the water when not in use.

my house has gas heat... it's been in the 30s-40s at night lately and my gas bill was a whopping $60 bucks. ~1500 sq ft. Electric bill in the summer is near $250 so I'm not upset.

big ass pool and I don't own the house P... just a 2 year lease. I can't afford to buy a place like this :)

hot tube is heated... like to swim, for my disabilities. dr's orders..
