For some reason its on the news and local/regional websites as some big story.

It's pretty spot on.

Yeah, that's the Garden State alright.

Well done.

Pretty accurate; I would tweak it a bit. You could argue that Alabama and Pineys, Pineys everywhere could be one in the same. Also, I would throw in little Mexico around Hamonton and Vineland down in South Jersey. I don't know if you've ever been down there; it's all blueberry fields and cranberry bogs. They truck the mexicans in by the schoolbus loads to work the fields. A lot of Italians, too(they own all the farms).

Then out of all of New Jersey the only place they put Italians is on the shore near Seaside? How about Washington Township(South jersey) I would call that New South Philly. Belleville, Nutley, pretty much all of bergen and Essex counties.

Then right next to camden: Gloucester City, Brooklawn, Bellmawr, Paulsboro, etc. would be White trash...and white trash Irish everywhere.

Camden I would change to Heroin, crack and methadone clinics.

You can tell who ever made this map was from North Jersey.

You know, it's a Jersey thing.

One place I'd love to visit, a major Kevin Smith fan.

nico-t 12-09-2011 07:07 AM

kevin smith is overrated.

CyberHustler 12-09-2011 07:12 AM

:1orglaugh very accurate...

Kevin Smith and Jersey are two different things. He saw Jersey through Hollywood covered lenses.

That map was pretty spot on for my short time there.

huh? he grew up in NJ. clerks definitely captures that part of Jersey very accurately.

the map is pretty damn close. where I grew up in Linden is definitely tons of Eastern Europeans now -- Polish, Russian, Ukranian, etc.

I grew up in the Alabama region.

Lived in "Christie country" back in the day.

DaddyHalbucks 12-09-2011 10:40 AM

Not my cup of tea.. too crowded, high crime, high taxes, polluted, etc..

wiggitywack 12-09-2011 10:45 AM

Spot on for me. I grew up in the "Old People & Asians" area. My public high school was more than half Asian, no wonder I graduated in the bottom half of my class.

_Richard_ 12-09-2011 10:54 AM

it's a cool insight to the area lol

I'm pretty sure he still has his comic book shop, even tho i haven't been there in about 15 years.

uno 12-09-2011 11:01 AM

I've lived in 4 of those sections.

Friendly white families
hipsters
melting pot
executives living in...

GetSCORECash 12-09-2011 11:33 AM

NJ has some of the lowest crime areas in the U.S. Unless you like to hang out in Trenton, Newark, Elizabeth, AC or Camden, it's statistically a very safe state.
