Many universities have done this. Probably all of them. They purchase their universityname.xxx, theirteam(s).xxx, it goes on and on. These places have no reason to own such a thing but do to avoid parodies and such.
Pretty much anyone who owns anything at all susceptible to public scrutiny is, or is looking to, purchase the .xxx of it. What a big joke this all is and they're laughing to the bank, meanwhile the non-adult crowd is hating the porn industry even more now. |
Bsically how the whole XXX model was designed. Extort money from as many people as possible, and let the rest fight over SEO scraps for a few months.

I could see what the plan was, after listening to Stuart Lawly talk to an interviewer on launch day. It became obvious when I thought about. The money it has cost, he continued to push for this even when online adult is clearly in decline and centralising, They spent a small fortune advertising it to the general public. The odds on recouping the investment and going on to make a profit in the future, by selling only to adult are slim. He needs sales to go to non adult people who want to protect their brands or names from the porn industry. Makes sense now and got to respect the guy for taking this route. OK he's a slime bag.
