does your cellphone do screenshots??

mine does not.

seems like a basic function of an OS, i dont mind buying an app, but why use third party for something as basic as a screenshot?

does your phone do screenshots natively?

yep, both iphone and ipod touch do, just hit the bottom button and top button at the same time it saves it into the photo library.

you need to "Root" your Android phone.

There is an App called "Shoot Me " (that doesn't require rooting) but i have not tried it yet

thats why i made this thread... why does a basic function such as screen-capture call for rooting?

yeah i hav apps for it, just dont understand why they rather me spend 4.99 on a third-party app to shake my phone and take a screenshot when it should just be part of the OS, even without the shake-capture.

I hear ya, i don't wanna root my phone either, warranty is voided when you do
I got the trial for that one: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.liveov.shotux
Works fine for now, i might just buy it when the trial is over...

This is something that's built into CyanogenMod Android builds...and it works.

If you're running Android and aren't using CM7, you're missing out.

Don't be afraid of rooting your phone. You can always flash back to stock if you need to do warranty stuff. I've never had a single issue.
